It’s the summer of the value menu. “But wait,” I hear you interject, “haven’t you just spent months telling us that it was the winter of the value menu?” Well, yes, in a sense (I spent months at the top of 2026 covering all the deals coming out of fast food chains) – but turns out that the allure of deals is evergreen. As such, we’re starting to see a flurry of meal deal offers come out for summer, with Sonic just announcing its new meal deal and value menu items, and Popeyes doing exactly the same.

The chicken chain has taken a slightly more, shall we say, circular approach here, though. When it’s not building chicken towers for Memorial Day, it’s dropping details about former favorites coming back, as opposed to debuting new deals. Hey, when those former favorites are good… Let’s discuss what, where, when, and for how long.
The $6 Big Box Is Back!
The bannerhead news here from Popeyes is that it’s reviving its $6 Big Box meal. Having first appeared back in 2014, it’s been a victim of the price rises that virtually every fast food chain has executed over the last decade-plus, but luckily, it hasn’t spiralled out of control.
As Allrecipes reports, the $6 Big Box is a mixture of one of two entrées (two pieces of Signature Chicken or three tenders), two regular sides, and a buttermilk biscuit. You can also upgrade to a premium side if you so choose – but you will, of course, have to pay a little extra for this.
The $20 Family Meal Is Also Back!
As well as the $6 Big Box making its grand arrival back at the party, Popeyes has also brought back its $20 Family Meal for the summer. In this one, you get nine pieces of crispy bone-in chicken or 11 tenders, plus one large side and four biscuits.
Bear in mind, though, that the $20 Family Meal doesn’t come with a drink – and nor does the Big Box deal. You’ll have to add them on. But hey. You win some, you lose some.
And Can You Give Me The Details On When I Can Get Them, Please?
Yes, I can! You can get both of these deals as of…yesterday. However, as with most things coming out of fast food chains these days, they’ll only be around for a limited time (although its returning chicken wraps have contradicted me there), so snag them while you can. They’ll be available at participating locations.
