Sonic's New Meal Deal And Refreshed Value Menu Are Here

The meal deals keep on a-comin’, people. In the first few months of 2026, we were awash – awash, I say! – with new value menus and meals from the likes of Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Chili’s, Subway, and pretty much everyone else, as the restaurant industry tried to keep customers on-side during rocky economic times. Once they’d all laid down their gauntlets, though, things calmed down a little.

Until now! Sonic’s kicking off the summer season with a new meal deal and a refreshed value menu of its very own. We call that biding your time to make sure the spotlight’s on you. Let’s check it out.

$7 Big Deal Meal

In a press release published yesterday, Sonic laid out its $7 Big Meal Deal, which offers an entrée, two sides, and a drink. When I say “an entrée,” I mean that you have one single choice of entrée – and the sides are fairly set, too. But: $7! In total, you get:

A Sonic cheeseburger
Small Premium Chicken Bites
Medium Tots or Fries
A Medium drink (you can pick iced tea here, if you wish, or a soft drink)

It’s worth noting that tax isn’t included in this price.

$1.99 Menu

As well as its Big Meal Deal, Sonic has given its $1.99 Menu a bit of a reconfiguration – and in doing so, the restaurant (in its press release) says that it’s “giving guests more flexibility to build their order their way.” The menu now includes Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers, Cheesy Baja Crispy Tender Wraps, vanilla soft serve, and small root beer floats.

And These Are All Available Now?

Yes, yes, they’re all available now. Both the $7 Big Meal Deal and the $1.99 Menu dropped yesterday at participating Sonic locations. That said, though, these don’t look to be permanent additions – the $7 Big Meal Deal is a limited-time offer, and while the $1.99 Menu is a mainstay at Sonic, these refreshed items could well be changed in the near future.

This new menu rejig is the second big move that Sonic has made in less than seven days. At the end of last week, we brought you word that it had just dropped its July 4 slush, and with it a duo of tropical menu items. As of June 1 (ie, yesterday), those are all in stores nationwide — they were previously only available to Rewards members, but now, their wings have been spread, and they’re flying. Flying into mouths, that is! Okay, I’ll see myself out. Bye!
