We’ve seen quite a few fast food value menus in the last few months – and honestly, that feels like an understatement. Everyone has been releasing or revamping one of these things at the top of 2026, as they seek to lure cash-strapped customers back through their doors. Taco Bell has a value menu. Panera has a value menu. Wendy’s has a value menu. And the latest chain to spruce up its offer is McDonald’s, with its new McValue menu going live on April 21. We can’t move for them, guys.

And now, we think we’re about to see a resurgence in the fast-casual value menu, too. Chili’s has just upped its game on its 3 For Me menu, and in doing so has delivered a serious potshot at the likes of McDonald’s. Let’s check out how.
The Gauntlet’s Been Thrown Down, McDonald’s
Chili’s announced in a press release yesterday that it’s boosted its 3 For Me menu by adding its Big Crispy and Spicy Big Crispy sandwiches to its offer. Now, you can get both sandwiches, plus fries, bottomless chips and salsa, and a fountain drink (that you can fill up as much as you like) for just $10.99. Chili’s has previously offered its Big Smasher and Big QP burgers on the menu; these chicken sandwiches are the latest entrants into the fray.
In doing so, it’s also taken a couple of shots at McDonald’s, in a not-so-subtle fashion. In its press release, it says its Big Crispy sandwiches are “all hand-battered and WAY bigger than McDonald’s McCrispy,” before going on to say, “How much bigger is WAY bigger? Chili’s found in a local study that the average Big Crispy filet was over 80% bigger than the average McCrispy breaded filet.” And if that wasn’t enough, one of its promotional images shows a picture of its Big Crispy and a McDonald’s McCrispy on a pair of scales, with the Big Crispy weighing them down significantly, while the McCrispy dangles up above, light as air. Tell us how you really feel, Chili’s!
Is This Really a Good Deal, Though?
To be honest…yeah, it kinda is. The McDonald’s McCrispy costs around $5, and that’s before you get fries and a drink. At Chili’s, meanwhile, you’re getting a much bigger sandwich if its study is anything to go by, and you get those sides thrown in. Plus, you get an actual sit-down experience, instead of just a grab-and-go vibe.
Customers agree with this assessment, and the restaurant’s 3 For Me deal has won it some fans. One customer over on Instagram, responding to a post from @foodbeast about the new chicken sandwich deal, called it “damn good value,” with another saying that “it beats anyone else by far.” We love a chain that can back up its fighting talk with genuine offers to its fanbase. Nicely done, Chili’s.
