Sonic Just Released A Full Banana Collection And We Have To Talk About It

No one tell the Minions but they just missed out on the partnership of a lifetime! The New York Times declared banana to be the flavor of the year and Sonic really took that to heart. While all other brands are releasing fall flavors (okay, technically Sonic is doing that, too), Sonic is releasing a full collection of banana treats that we have to talk about.

Such a sleek name. It feels like the banana collection should be the wing of a museum, not a new lineup of treats at a fast food restaurant. Let’s cover the details on what’s coming to a Sonic near you.

Banana Pudding Shake: The fan-favorite frozen treat returns to the menu, featuring creamy banana pudding-flavored soft serve blended with vanilla wafer cookie crumbles and topped with even more vanilla wafer cookie crumbles, whipped topping, and a cherry on top.

Banana Pudding Blast: Creamy banana pudding-flavored soft serve blended with vanilla wafer cookie crumbles and topped with even more vanilla wafer cookie crumbles.

Banana Dirty Dr Pepper: Dirty sodas are in and Sonic just gave them a bold new twist on the trend by combining Dr Pepper with the sweet flavor of real banana and cream.

Is Everything Bananas?

Well, in a sense, yes. This is a crazy lineup. A bananas lineup, one could say. The thought of making a banana pudding-flavored soft serve is a bold idea, but I think it can work. The banana dirty Dr Pepper on the other hand may be a bit too much for me! I’ll have to check that one out.

As for the overall trend of banana being the flavor of the year, honestly that’s news to me. I thought we were still in Dubai chocolate territory. I can’t say I’ve really been seeing a lot more bananas out and about. Except for the Minions movie of course. They have to have bananas in that! I would say maybe the two are connected, but we get a new Minions or Despicable Me movie every year so that can’t be the case.
