The first half of Bridgerton Season 4 is streaming now on Netflix. Luckily for us, we’ve got the perfect treat to keep us cool while watching the newest episodes of this steamy show. Columbus, Ohio’s own Jeni’s Ice Cream has released a classy new ice cream flavor perfect for sharing at your Bridgerton watch party (or enjoying all by yourself). The good folks at Jeni’s sent over a pint of their new Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake; let’s see if this can live up to the energy of the monarch herself.

Pros: This almond-buttercream ice cream is packed with bites of honey sponge cake and so much raspberry-rose jam. Seriously, I was impressed with the jam swirl before I discovered a solid layer of jam at the very bottom of the pint. The ice cream is perfectly simple as a base, so the bright flavors of the jam and cake inclusions really shine.
Jeni’s absolutely nailed the fact that, like the show itself, this ice cream should be enjoyable whether you take it a bite at a time or finish it all in one night. The flavors here are delicious, but the ice cream as a whole is subtle enough that you could absent-mindedly eat the whole pint without thinking too hard about it. (My all-time favorite Jeni’s flavor is definitely too strong to enjoy in bulk. #BringBackOPAQUE.)
Cons: Much like the show’s actual release schedule, we’re getting two batches of Bridgerton ice cream from Jeni’s split across two months. I’ll cover the details of that second flavor next; I just worry that Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake is so good, the follow-up will have trouble living up to what we’ve already had.

What’s the other Jeni’s x Bridgerton ice cream flavor coming down the line?
In early February, we’ll get to try a second Jeni’s Ice Cream flavor inspired by the regal world of Bridgerton: Earl Grey Crème Brûlée. This fragrant tea-steeped custard features burnt sugar inclusions to emulate a full-bodied dessert course. Pints of Earl Grey Crème Brûlée will hit Jeni’s webstore on February 9th; if you’re lucky enough to live near a Jeni’s scoop shop, you’ll be able to get Earl Grey Crème Brûlée in one of their fresh waffle bowls or cones starting February 12th.
No matter how you get it, make sure you stock up ahead of the premiere of Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 on February 26th. (Jeni’s was nice enough to send over an early pint of the first batch, so I’ll be reviewing it next week!)
