Butterbeer Season Continues with Keebler Butterbeer Fudge Stripes

It is officially Butterbeer season and brands are coming together like the Avengers (or, more appropriately, like the Order of the Phoenix) to bring us Harry Potter collaborations left and right featuring all sorts of Butterbeer-flavored snacks. Sporked’s Ariana Losch tried the Butterbeer Goldfish and I tried the Hershey’s Kisses—and the fun doesn’t stop there because Keebler very graciously sent over some of their new, limited edition Butterbeer-flavored Fudge Stripes. So, let’s crack them open and dive right in!

New Fudge Stripes!

Keebler Butterbeer Fudge Stripes

Pros: Both the packaging and the cookies themselves are designed beautifully. The cookies have four different Harry Potter-inspired motifs and the packaging’s gold foil color really adds a lot to the product. Getting into the cookies themselves, the same fantastic signature Butterbeer flavor that was present with the Kisses is here too. The cookies themselves are Butterbeer-flavored, as is the white fudge striping. I think the Butterbeer flavor marries beautifully with the flavor of the cookie—it’s not overwhelming, you can still taste “cookie.”

Cons: These cookies are very dry. I know they’re cookies and cookies can be dry, but they are drier than I think you’d normally expect. Even after having just one I was reaching for a glass of water. I don’t even know what could be done to remedy this, but my criticism stands. Perhaps you need to pair these cookies with an actual pint of Butterbeer.

Author’s note: In light of the creator of the series having some less than savory views that do not align with my own, I will once again be making a donation for the cost of this product to GLAAD.
