A KFC Fan Favorite Is (Finally) Back For This 2026 Trend

Pickles. They are everywhere. You probably don’t need to tell us that – you only have to look at your local supermarket’s shelves to see it – but we’re gonna tell you anyway. Pickle-flavored foods have been nonstop in 2026, and just when we thought we were getting a bit of breathing room from the scent of vinegar and dill, another wave of pickle-y products has come along. In the last month, we’ve seen the debut of Spicy Dill Pickle Fritos, Quest Dill Pickle Original Style Protein Chips, Dill Pickle Pretzels at AMC, and, perhaps most weird of all, a pickle smoothie from Smoothie King and Grillo’s. It has been a very weird time.

So it’s almost a breath of fresh air to see KFC come out with a pickle product, given that the chicken chain is not releasing something wild, wacky, and new, but remounting a former favorite. Its Fried Pickles are back. Let’s discuss.

KFC Fried Pickles

KFC announced this week that its popular Fried Pickles were returning to stores for the summer, as part of a wider menu shake-up which sees it also bring out drinks like its new Prickly Pear Lemonade. KFC first debuted this fried, salty, sour snack last year, and it was big enough then to merit a comeback. “The response to our fried pickles last summer proved that demand is still strong. We’re building on that momentum by bringing them back to our menu,” said KFC US CMO Melissa Cash in a press release, before saying that its new menu is “a craveable lineup of savory, spicy and cool flavors, all built around that signature crunch they can’t get enough of.”

And if you’ve never had a fried pickle from KFC before (or never had a fried pickle, full stop), then here’s what you can expect: Slices of salty, vinegary dill pickles coated in a crunchy breading, which are then deep-fried until golden-brown. They play pretty strongly on the senses, and they’re not exactly the most nutritious or filling things in the world – but that’s not why you’re eating them, right?

KFC’s Fried Pickles will be available in an eight-piece order, accompanied by a cup of dipping sauce – or you can grab them in one of KFC’s new digital-exclusive snack boxes, which you can find online or in its app. Its Nuggets + Fried Pickles box contains five nuggets, eight pickles, and your choice of sauce, while its Fries + Fried Pickles box has eight pickles, a side of fries, and sauce. 

No matter what you go for, though, Fried Pickles will be available nationwide, for a limited time. Don’t miss out on all that summery, crispy, sour fun.
