A couple weeks ago, I reviewed Khloe Kardashian’s new “Khloud” protein chips, and I kindly requested that y’all let me just get through the review without expecting me to make a joke about the Kardashians. Mainly because I do not know the Kardashians well enough to come up with something creative. I’m not about to Google “khloe kardashian facts” just to make a stupid pun. I’m here to review new food! That’s it! And today, that includes a new flavor of Khloud Protein Popcorn: Birthday Cake.

I’m sure there’s some birthday fiasco from Keeping Up With the Kardashians that’s just ripe for a joke here. Feel free to tell me about it in the comments. In the meantime, here’s my honest review of this protein popcorn, which comes in at 7g of protein per serving (around twice the amount in regular popcorn).

Pros: These are lightly sweet, a tad salty, and finish a lovely vanilla cake flavor that really surprised me. The popcorn is covered in colorful pastel confetti flecks, which I found pretty darn cute.
Cons: I believe it’s the milk protein causing this problem, but if you eat even a handful, the coating sticks to and coats the inside of your mouth. I can’t get past it. It’s like wet chalk.
Verdict: Look, many reviews I’ve seen of this flavor online are really positive, and no one mentions this textural issue that I’m having, so take my rating with a grain of salt. But I can’t eat them. My review, my rules.
Howdy! I’m a Sporked writer based in L.A., and you can find me overstaying my welcome at just about any coffee shop with free wifi, no matter the speed. Sadly, I can never move back to my home state, Florida, because even if the seafood is totally unmatched, there aren’t enough Mediterranean or Korean restaurants to keep me sane.
