Free ice cream: Say no more. Wait, say one more word. “Pint.” Now we’re talking! Free ice cream is always better if it’s in a fairly voluminous unit of measurement, and it feels like Kroger knows that this is the case, too. That’s why it’s giving away 100,000 of ‘em, in a continuation of a classic offer that’s coming back for 2026 – but this time in a much more generous fashion.

So, what’s the deal? How do you get this free ice cream? And might there be a new flavor that you can try? We’ll tell you, we’ll tell you, and yes. Here we go.
Kroger’s Summer Solstice Pint Offer
Kroger’s returning free ice cream offer is amped up for this year, after customers previously fell head over heels for the prospect of pints of frozen dessert for no money at all. “Summer is all about bringing people together to create memories that last a lifetime,” said Kroger’s group vice president of brands, Ann Redd, in a statement. “We’ve loved seeing customers come back year after year for their free pints and now, we’re going bigger than ever by giving away 100,000 pints.”
To avail of said free pints, here’s how it’s done. First, you’ll need to be at your computer or phone on June 19 at 12 PM EST, with your browser open to freekrogericecream.com. When the clock strikes twelve, you should be able to access and download a limited-time, single-use coupon. Bear in mind that these coupons will only be available while supplies last, so you might want to be prompt. Free ice cream goes fast!
Then, once you have your coupon, you can redeem it from June 19 to July 3 at any of the stores in the Kroger family, which include Baker’s, Dillons, Metro Market, and Pick ‘n Save. You can use it for any of Kroger’s classic ice creams or one of the options in its new All American Collection…
Why The Ellipses?
Well, because that’s a big aspect of this whole free pint thing! In tandem with its 100,000 pint giveaway announcement, Kroger also highlighted its All American Collection, which feels very July 4-coded. We’ve previously covered two of the flavors here, but Kroger is also bringing out a Banana Split Social flavor, made with strawberry banana ice cream, pineapple chunks, and chocolate swirls. You can find it in stores now. Oh, and if you miss out on the free pints, then Kroger’s still giving customers a dollar off any two pints of Kroger ice cream until July 3.
