Lay’s Do Us a Flavor Is BACK with THREE New Flavors!

I can’t say enough just how much Frito-Lay (maker of Lay’s, Doritos, and almost every other snack you love in the chip aisle) is doing this year. Every time I think we’ve covered it all there are more and more surprises. This time, Frito-Lay is gracing us with the return of the fan favorite promotion “Do Us a Flavor.” That means even more wild, new Lay’s flavors to snag. 

What is Lay’s Do Us a Flavor?

In a sense, it really is about the public doing Frito-Lay a favor—albeit a potentially paid favor. The “Do Us a Flavor” campaign involves fans submitting their craziest and wildest ideas for Lay’s chips flavors. Then Frito-Lay selects three (or sometimes four) finalists and releases them into the wild, where a fan vote will take place. The winner nets a cool million dollars! 

What flavors have won in the past?

The first “Do Us a Flavor” sweepstakes dropped in 2014 and has happened several times since then. It’s led to the creation of several really crazy and wild flavors that I’d love to try again such as: Mango Salsa, Cappuccino, Biscuits and Gravy, Everything Bagel, Deep Dish Pizza, and even some that have continued to pop up from time to time such as Fried Green Tomato (which has just recently been spotted in stores), Crispy Taco, Wavy Greek Tzatziki, Fried Pickles with Ranch, Cajun Spice, and Chesapeake Bay Crab Spice (more on those in an upcoming review). Needless to say, a LOT of snacky goodness has come from this promotion! 

What new Lay’s flavors are coming out this year?

Thanks to the snackfluencer duo of SnachWithZach and Team Supernova, we got a peek at the three flavors that Frito-Lay has selected as finalists this year:

Valentina & Lime – Featuring Valentina Mexican Hot Sauce! Apparently, putting Valentina and lime juice on Lay’s chips is already a known delicacy. So not only do I really want to try that now, I’m excited for these chips.

Korean-Style Fried Chicken – Zach noted that he’s hoping for “a little gochujang action” based on the design of the bag, and I couldn’t agree with him more.

Bacon & Grilled Cheese – I think these pretty much speak for themselves!

When will the chips be out? When and how can we vote?

According to the official Do Us a Flavor website, the trio will hit shelves later this month and voting will be open from April 21st until June 13th.
