Lindt’s New Carrot Cake Truffles (Almost) Take the Cake

Being Sporked’s resident Lindt Lindor truffle expert is a tough gig. In an effort to keep my truffle ranking up to date, I’m always on the hunt for the newest seasonal flavors—and this season is no different. You’d think Lindt might take a little break after Valentine’s Day, which is basically their Super Bowl, but they’ve already got a new flavor on shelves just a few weeks later. Yes, Lindt has figured out how to shove an entire carrot cake into a truffle.

Lindt Lindor Carrot Cake Truffles

Pros: I love a good carrot cake (and even a mediocre one), so this flavor is right up my alley. The core cinnamon flavor is absolutely where it needs to be, and the creamier center brings to mind the texture of cream cheese frosting. Overall, this is definitely what a carrot cake enjoyer would want from a carrot cake-flavored treat.

Cons: I’d love to see something added to the shell or core to bring a cakey texture to this truffle. I’m not sure you could add any sort of dough bites with how small a truffle is, but I’m sure the scientists at the Lindt laboratories could figure something out. They have tons of texturally unique truffles—including the new Cookies & Creme flavor, which I’ll be adding to my truffle ranking later this year, along with Dark Strawberry, Tiramisu, Neapolitan, and (of course) Carrot Cake.

Where can I find these for myself?

This new limited edition flavor is only available at Target in the classic Lindt Lindor single-flavor bag, same as the Target-exclusive Cherry Vanilla truffle released earlier this year. You won’t even be able to find this one at Lindt’s own retail stores! I checked for myself since I’ve found some “exclusives” there in the past, but all I found was a fancy chocolate store that sells luxury hot chocolates made with any of the dozens of truffles Lindt makes. I may not have left that store with any Carrot Cake truffles, but it’s hard to feel like your mission has been a failure when you have a Dark Strawberry hot chocolate in your hand.
