Liquid Death is at it again with another potentially legally actionable soda-inspired sparkling water. Today, we’ve got our hands on Liquid Death MTN DON’T. We first heard about this back at NACS Expo 2025, but the drink is finally hitting shelves nationwide. Since this is one of the last Liquid Death Sparkling Water variants we’ll get to try before the Feastables Peanut Butter Cup collaboration hits us this fall, let’s enjoy this as long as we can. Grab your climbing gear; it’s time to tackle MTN DON’T.

Liquid Death MTN DON’T Sparkling Water Review

New Liquid Death!

Pros: Without a doubt, this tastes like Mountain Dew the classic alpine citrus soda we all know and… love? More on that later. The inherent bitterness of sparkling water actually helps emulate the harshness of the original soda. MTN DON’T is absolutely in the upper echelon of Liquid Death‘s soda-inspired water line.

If I were in the beverage business, I’d take a lot of notes from the real-sugar-plus-stevia sweetener mix used here. I have a feeling “real sugar, but less of it” is going to become a popular drink genre in the near future. PepsiCo is already exploring that route with the new Gatorade Lower Sugar line. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the “diet soda” category supplemented and eventually replaced by drinks sweetened like this.

Cons: I think this sparkling water made me realize I don’t particularly like regular Mountain Dew. (I’m sure I’ll get some flak from fellow Sporked correspondent Tyler Bowers for saying that.) It’s impressive that so many fantastic flavor variants like Baja Blast and Infinite Swirl came out of such a solidly “okay” soda.

Where can I get Liquid Death MTN DON’T Sparkling Water for myself?

I found the can used for this review at a QuikTrip gas station, but the drink should be available wherever Liquid Death tallboys are sold. At this time, I haven’t seen anything to suggest Liquid Death MTN DON’T Sparkling Water will launch in 12oz cans, but I could see the brand including this in a new edition of their “Soda Sparkling Water” variety packs.
