In a perfect world, every new M&M’s flavor would be a banger. But if it wasn’t already abundantly clear, we don’t live in a perfect world. We tasted seven new M&M’s flavors this year—including three that aren’t officially hitting stores until 2026—and most of them got pretty middling reviews. But new M&M’s are new M&M’s—we’re always excited to try what they’ve cooked up, even if it doesn’t surpass the classics. Based on the Sporked team’s expert reviews, these are all the new M&M’s flavors we tried in 2025, ranked from worst to best.
- M&M’s Cherry Chocolate Cupcake
-
The worst M&M’s we tried this year really weren’t that bad. Five-and-a-half Sporks isn’t too dreadful a score and, honestly, it’s commendable that Mars avoided any real duds this year. When Sporked managing editor Gwynedd Stuart tried these, her main critique was that they are as large as M&M’s that contain a filling but they don’t contain anything besides chocolate—and a little bit of medicinal cherry flavor. Give us something fun to find inside! A little cupcake bite! C’mon!
- M&M’s Honey Roasted Peanut
-
In his review of these new M&M’s, Sporked writer Griffin Parker admitted that he doesn’t actually care for the regular Peanut M&M’s, but he did his best to set his biases aside and that’s all we can ask for, right? Love ’em or hate ’em, Peanut M&M’s are classic and, unfortunately, they really don’t benefit all that much from having a little bit of honey flavor wedged in.
- M&M’s Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll
-
The lesson here: Don’t mess with perfection. Everyone knows that Peanut Butter M&M’s are practically perfect. The Sporked team is actually partial to Mega Peanut Butter M&M’s, but that’s only because you get more of that nice, creamy peanut butter in every bite. Now, Gwynedd claims she’s unfamiliar with the concept of a “peanut butter cinnamon roll,” and while I can’t relate, I do agree that cinnamon isn’t a pretty necessary addition to this particular flavor profile. These land right about in the middle of the pack.
- M&M’s Cookies & Creme
-
While the big collab of the year was certainly Reese’s and Oreo working together on cookies and cups, this mix of white and dark chocolate was notable. Unfortunately, these M&M’s simply didn’t nail that classic cookies & cream/creme flavor profile, but they were balanced enough to keep Griffin going back for more.
- M&M’s Strawberries & Creme
-
These were reviewed by a certified white chocolate skeptic, but still managed to get a good score, so that’s really saying something. This Valentine’s Day flavor was bright, creamy, and fruity tasting—not quite strawberry milkshake creamy, but really pleasant. Would we have preferred dark chocolate-strawberry M&M’s? Probably. But these pretty pink pellets were a nice antidote to the late-winter blues.
- M&M’s Marshmallow Crispy
-
We tried this Target-exclusive flavor back in June, and loved the crispy-crunchy texture of the filling, even if we thought the marshmallow flavor was a little strong. But hey, if you couldn’t taste marshmallow, these would just be white chocolate M&M’s with rice inside, and that’s not nearly as exciting. Griffin admitted he had a hard time not devouring this entire bag.
- M&M’s Lemon Meringue Pie
-
M&M’s released a lot of white chocolate flavors in 2025, and they ended up being our favorites. These white chocolate M&M’s—which don’t technically come out until 2026—have a bright, tangy lemon flavor and a nice little crispy morsel in the middle to cut the sweetness. They don’t necessarily taste like lemon meringue pie, hence the less-than-perfect rating, but we still liked them a lot.
