The Disney villains are getting a Halloween makeover and McDonald’s fans have a new reason to get excited about Happy Meals. The fast-food chain is reportedly bringing back its iconic Boo Buckets on October 20, 2026, with a Disney collaboration that puts some of the most recognizable animated villains front and center.

The collection has been making the rounds on social media, but McDonald’s has yet to officially confirm all the details.
McDonald’s Boo Buckets Are Getting A Wicked Disney Makeover
McDonald’s Boo Buckets have become a familiar sight during Halloween. These colorful containers give Happy Meal fans something extra to look forward to and their seasonal designs have made them popular with collectors, too.
For 2026, the rumored collection is inspired by some of your favorite Disney villains, including Scar from The Lion King, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and Jafar from Aladdin. Each character gets a different color, with orange, white, purple, green, and red making up the collection.
Are McDonald’s The Best Boo Bucket This Halloween?
McDonald’s isn’t the only fast-food chain getting into the Halloween spirit this year. Tim Hortons and Wendy’s are also giving fans reasons to get excited about spooky-season collectibles. With so many options popping up, the real question is: Which chain deserves the Halloween crown?
Tim Hortons is already in the game, with its glow-in-the-dark Halloween buckets available now. It can hold up to 31 Timbits, which are the brand’s bite-sized donut treats, and has a lid for keeping the contents covered.
Wendy’s is a bit different with its Frosty Frights collection. Rather than offering a traditional Halloween bucket, the chain has introduced 12 new kids’ meal collectibles for 2026, including six core characters and six variants. The characters include Numb Chuck, Sir Choc-O-Lot, E.A.T., Cold Foot, Shiver Wing, and Taranchilla. Each toy comes with a sticker sheet and mini trading card, while the themed meal bag adds another Halloween touch.
So, going by all of these, I think McDonald’s has the best collectible lineup, closely followed by Wendy’s.
When Are The Disney Villain Boo Buckets Coming To McDonald’s?
The reported release date is October 20th, but McDonald’s has not officially confirmed the date or all the details of the promotion.
McDonald’s has also not confirmed whether customers can choose a particular villain, but for now Scar and Jafar are my favorite buckets.
