We Tried Crumbl’s New Midnight S’mores Cookie

Sometimes, Crumbl gives me an easy week. After more than a few “all new!” lineups, Crumbl has launched a menu with just a single new cookie for yours truly to review. Per Crumbl’s official flavor description, Midnight S’mores is “a decadent chocolate cookie packed with milk chocolate chips, then stuffed with a melty marshmallow, chocolate drizzle, and butter graham cracker crumbs.” Let’s find out whether this will make up for the fact I haven’t gone camping in… ever.

Midnight S’mores Crumbl Cookie Review

New Crumbl Cookie!

Pros: Have y’all ever made s’mores with chocolate graham crackers? This is a fantastic cookie translation of a chocolate-heavy s’more. In layman’s terms, this is stuffed with a whole-ass marshmallow–the gooey stretch when I broke this cookie in two was legitimately impressive… even if it presented a new issue I’ll get to in a minute. I normally turn and run from any marshmallow-based treat, but for folks who like this kind of thing, it’s well done.

Cons: Folks, as a professional Crumbl cookie reviewer, I naturally own the official Crumbl cookie cutter. Even sillier, I actually own an earlier version than the one sold in stores these days. Mine doesn’t say Crumbl on it at all; the branding is limited to the iconic pink and a baker icon on the handle. These cookie cutters are designed to chop any standard-size, standard-shape Crumbl cookie (looking at you, Minecraft) into 4 equal pieces. Is this for sharing? Is this because most Crumbl cookies designate one-fourth as a single serving? No one knows!

I bring all this up to say that the marshmallow placement on my Midnight S’mores cookie was entirely located on one side. There is no world where I could cut this into four equally-sized pieces and get marshmallow in more than two. Is this a small nitpick? Absolutely. That said, as I covered in a Toaster Strudel review once, I’m here for the moms carefully splitting snacks among multiple siblings. This cookie could easily spark a tantrum in a family with prying eyes. (And I know we’re going for the classic s’mores recipe here, but the word “Midnight” definitely brings dark chocolate to mind; swap that in and I can promise the score will increase.)
