Mtn Dew Is Bringing a Cult Favorite Back to Stores Along with Some New Flavors

Get ready to have a blast this summer, a Baja Blast, that is. I did not grow up near a Taco Bell, so my first introduction to the term “Baja Blast” was actually watching Rhett & Link’s Taco Bell Folk Song 13 years ago. At the time I had no idea what it meant. I now know it’s a special tropical lime-flavored Mtn Dew that is only available at Taco Bell—for the most part.

Baja Blast has been available at some retail stores during the summer since back in 2014. And fans of the cult favorite will be stoked to learn that it’s coming back to stores this summer—with a few brand new Baja-related bevvies in tow.

That’s right. Mtn Dew is also bringing back the zero-sugar version of the Baja blast, and releasing two brand new Baja flavors AND a Baja energy drink. The two new flavors are: Baja Mango Gem (mango-flavored, obv) and Baja Gold (pineapple-flavored), and the energy drink is called Mtn Dew Energy Baja Blast. Crazy, right? But wait, there’s more! The company is also doing a giveaway of an even-more-exclusive flavor called Baja Blast Deep Dive, which you can enter to win on this website using codes found under the caps on all three Baja Blast flavors. This never-before-released flavor is supposedly similar to the Baja Blast Original but containing “new depths, wrapped in a sleek black can.” 

“New depths”? Not sure what that means but I’m going to take a wild guess that it’s the flavor equivalent of staring into the eyes of any one of the Hollywood Chris’s. I may never know. I do know, however, that the lid code from any single bottle could also win you “up to $1,000″ in cash prizes, which sounds almost as good as getting to try the “new depths” of the Baja Blast Deep Dive.
