Rumor Has It a Cocktail-Inspired Mtn Dew Baja Blast Is in the Works

Picture it: Summer has arrived. You’re at a beach, the sun is shining, and the waves are lapping at your feet as you cradle a book in one hand and a freshly mixed fruity cocktail in the other. Okay, maybe that’s not how most trips to the beach pan out. And if you’re like me, you’d prefer to spend a summer day horizontal in the A/C, listening to beach sounds on the ol’ laptop, and sipping the ultimate summer bev: Mtn Dew Baja Blast

Well, it turns out Mtn Dew might be bringing these two seasonal fantasies together soon. According to a leaked image shared on Instagram by soda specialist @teamsupernovafb, a beachy new Baja Blast flavor is on its way: Mtn Dew Baja Blast Paloma Punch. The cocktail-inspired flavor, which a leaked image of the label claims will be a “perfect pairing” with tacos, will be hitting stores and Taco Bell locations for an eight-week run beginning in Spring 2025, according to info shared on Instagram by @teamsupernova. Word has it the flavor will be available at Taco Bell as both a fountain drink and a freeze. The folks at @teamsupernovafb are also speculating that there will be a limited release of bottles and cans that will hit stores, too (but, again, that’s just speculation).

Is this just another punch-flavored Mtn Dew Baja Blast? Haven’t we already had those?

Yes, Baja Punch was around for a limited time in 2021 and Baja Point Break Punch just came out this year, but the hope is that a Paloma-inspired Baja will bring something new to the table. Traditionally, a Paloma is made with tequila, grapefruit soda, and lime juice. A complex citrus fruit like grapefruit may be the key to reinventing the punch-flavored Dews, which some fans have been ambivalent about (personally, we loved Point Break Punch). Perhaps the more bitter flavor profile alongside the sourness of the lime will complement the usual sweetness of fruit punch flavors and…well, Mtn Dew in general.

We have a whole year to noodle on this, but we’re already excited to see how this punchy Mtn Dew mocktail will define our beach vibes in the summer of 2025.
