Of all the drink brands I regularly cover here on Sporked, Alani Nu is the best at playing hard-to-get. While I have working relationships ranging from “cordial” to “besties” with brands big and small (including Alani Nu’s parent-company-sibling, PRIME), Alani Nu remains distant. All my inquiries about rumors/leaks are politely declined with a “stay tuned to our social media for more info!” response. So today, I come to you with this extremely-unofficial information: Strawberry Sunrise Alani Nu is on the horizon.
What’s the flavor of Strawberry Sunrise Alani Nu?
From the looks of the can, Strawberry Sunrise Alani Nu Energy will be a strawberry-orange energy drink. I’ve been tricked by Alani Nu can designs before, but this seems right on the money. Considering how brunch-y Alani Nu’s whole vibe is, “strawberry mimosa” is extremely on-brand. Alani Nu has even sold a Mimosa-flavored energy drink before; this might be a spiritual successor to that discontinued flavor.
When and where will Strawberry Sunrise be sold?
I am confident that we’ll see Strawberry Sunrise Alani Nu Energy hit shelves within the next few months. Alani Nu isn’t big on the store/regional-exclusives, so once this does hit shelves, expect it everywhere from mainstream stores like Kroger and Walmart to health shops like GNC and Vitamin Shoppe. And of course, if you can’t find this new Alani Nu flavor in-person, many of the above stores (plus Alani Nu themselves) would happily ship you a case.
What should we expect next from Alani Nu?
Take this with another grain of unconfirmed salt, but I have a theory about what we’ll see next from Alani Nu. They’ve been consistently alternating between “new flavor!” and “updated formula/design of an existing flavor!” for a while now. We had the new Winter Wonderland flavor, then the Watermelon Wave relaunch (review coming soon), and now the new Strawberry Sunrise flavor. That means, if patterns hold, the next release will be an update to a previous flavor! There’s only one active flavor still using their old “white can” design scheme: Blue Slush. If there were places to bet on this kind of thing, I’d put money on a new version of Blue Slush in fridges before summer’s end.
