There I was, corresponding for Sporked at the Sweets & Snacks Expo (the giant annual candy convention held by the National Confectioners Association), when I saw something a little confusing. You see, a few days before the event, Ferrero announced their entire 2025 slate of new releases including a brand new Butterfinger flavor. Cut back to the expo, I’m standing at their booth staring at a giant video billboard when I see an ad pop up for…a different brand new Butterfinger flavor? Rest assured, I dug up the answers for you good people. Today, I’m here to tell you about two new Butterfinger flavors: one hitting shelves later this year and one coming next year.
Marshmallow Butterfinger: What is it and when’s it coming out?
Marshmallow Butterfinger bars will hit shelves this September—just in time for Halloween. While I wasn’t able to get my hands on a sample at the show, the pictures floating around appear to show a standard Butterfinger with a white chocolate coating—no marshmallow filling to be found. I’ve had too many flavored cremes to be confident exactly how this is marshmallow flavored, but the last new release from Butterfinger might hold a clue. The Salted Caramel Butterfinger bars that were released earlier this year featured a salted caramel flavored milk chocolate coating. If I had to guess, I imagine we will see a marshmallow flavored coating delivering the marshmallow flavor to this new Butterfinger.
French Toast Butterfinger: What is it and when’s it coming out?
Per the brand (and the brand’s video billboard), we’ll see the first ever French Toast Butterfinger bars hit shelves in early 2026. I imagine these will be pretty similar in flavor to the Ghost Toast Kit Kat bars from last year, and I’m not mad about that. There wasn’t any noticeable visual difference between a normal Butterfinger and the cross-section on the video billboard I was entranced by, but I’m sure the flavor will make up for that. I bet we’ll see the first samples of these at the NACS Convenience Store Expo this October.
Where will we be able to get these new Butterfinger flavors?
As far as we know, both Butterfinger Marshmallow and Butterfinger French Toast will be available wherever fine Butterfingers are sold. Brands don’t normally show off retailer-exclusives at events like the Sweets & Snacks Expo. The event is primarily focused on candy buyers from stores big and small, meeting with brands trying to get new products in front of people. It’d be pretty silly for a brand to promote a candy nobody can buy for their stores.
