Drink brands are getting verrrry patriotic this year. A cursory glance at the history books reveals why: 2026 will be the 250th anniversary of the US of A, and beverage companies are responding in kind. In the last few weeks, we’ve had Coke dropping 52 all-new can designs and Mountain Dew debuting American Dew. Now, Gatorade is following suit by releasing its all-new All-American Mashups.

But what is it? Where is it? What does it taste like? Don’t worry, we’re about to tell you the answers to all of those things.

What is new Gatorade All-American Mashups?

Gatorade’s new, limited-time All-American Mashups flavor is the latest in its Mashups line, which has been around for about a year now. The conceit of Gatorade Mashups is that it throws two of its flavors together to provide an all-new experience.

Well, with this new one (which has now been spotted in the wild by @candyhunting), we’re getting something we didn’t anticipate. All-American Mashups is a mango passionfruit flavor, according to the PepsiCo Partners website, and it’s got a pinkish tone. It comes in a bottle emblazoned with stars and stripes, as you would expect from a drink that’s designed to (apparently) stir a feeling of national pride – but we have to admit that we hadn’t called the flavor and color of the beverage.

What are people saying?

Given that this drink is being released for July 4, and so is just starting its rollout now, there hasn’t been a huge amount of response to it thus far. However, the limited reaction it has had has seen people slightly annoyed by the flavor profile that Gatorade has picked. “Passion fruit noooooo,” said one comment on @candyhunting’s post. Hey, we like passion fruit, so we’re not complaining about that one – but we’ll reserve judgment for when other people have managed to try it before we give our final verdict.

Sadly, it doesn’t look as though Gatorade is going with the sweepstakes vibe that both Coke and Mountain Dew have led with for the release of their new products (it looks like it’s been a bit too busy figuring out its new Longer Lasting formula to do that). Those brands have offered customers the chance to win money, a Jeep, and various trips away; Gatorade, so far, looks as though it’s just giving us a limited-edition drink. There’s still time, Gatorade, and we all know that the people loooove a bit of free cash. Ball’s in your court, guys!

Your thoughts.

  • I thought it was supposed to be watermelon and guava not mango and passionfruit. I have three in my fridge but havent tried it yet. Kroger owned store had it the other day.

    • Hey Banky! Thanks for your comment. The listing for the drink on http://www.pepsicopartners.com has it marked as a Mango Passion Fruit flavor — I’ve updated the article accordingly, but it does seem like there’s some inconsistency around what it actually is. Let me know what you make of it when you try it!
