Get ready for Breyers Almond Joy Ice Cream
I’m gonna kick this off with something simple, classy, timeless: Almond Joy ice cream has finally arrived on the scene. Breyers teamed up with your uncle’s favorite candy bar to release a pint of coconut ice cream with ribbons of chocolate and, of course, chocolate-coated almonds. My only request here is that they go heavy on the almonds. I want to unearth a damn geode of crunchy almond bits every time I go in with the spoon. Otherwise, what’s the point? Hm? Hmm???
Haagen Dazs hopped on the Dubai Chocolate train with their new Mini Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bars
I feel like a dog watching my owner reach for the leash and say all of my favorite trigger words: Mini? Dubai chocolate? Ice cream bars? From Haagen Dazs? Yes, walk!! Let’s go on a walk!!! To Costco. Where you can buy a 20-count box and feed me mini pistachio ice cream sandwiches coated in milk chocolate and kataifi. Now hurry up before I pee on your rug.
By the way: Pop-Tarts makes ice cream sandwiches now
How can the world be all doom and gloom when Pop-Tarts ice cream sandwiches suddenly exist? We’re getting Strawberry, Frosted Brown Sugar, and Chocolate Fudge flavors, and while the official rollout is sometime in June, they’ve already been spotted here and there at Walmart. I mean, guys. We’re thriving. Absolutely thriving. Don’t look at the news. Hey!*chucks a Pop-Tarts ice cream sandwich at you* Close your News app right now.
Van Leeuwen’s Guinness Ice Cream is back
Is this new? Not technically. But you would have only found it at Van Leeuwen ice cream shops last year for a limited time, and now it’s getting a nationwide release. Believe it or not, this is my most anticipated flavor of the year. I don’t even like beer that much. I just missed this flavor the first time around, and I don’t want to make that mistake again; also, I feel like a creamy, hoppy, malty ice cream could fix all of my problems. (And Van Leeuwen is my favorite ice cream brand, because occasionally I’m a bougie b*tch like that. Sorry, not sorry.)
Sees Candies & McConnell’s Ice Cream collabed on a whole LINE of new ice creams
Like Van Leeuwen’s Guinness flavor, this absolutely stacked collab between Sees Candies and McConnell’s Ice Cream is also technically returning—for a nationwide release. I highly recommend checking out our full coverage on what to expect, but all the new flavors include: Vanilla with California Brittle, Banana Cream with Toffee-ettes, Chocolate with Polar Bear Paws, See’s Candies Brown Sugar with Milk Bordeaux. You can find these at Gelson’s, Safeway, and now Whole Foods. (Apologies for giving any Whole Foods haters a very legitimate reason to go to Whole Foods. Don’t shoot the messenger.)
Honorable Mention: King’s Hawaiian & Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Sandwich
It’s a really good time to be a Van Leeuwen gal who lives in LA, I gotta say. King’s Hawaiian just put out a new ube and coconut-flavored rolls. To promote it, they teamed up with Van Leeuwen to make ice cream sandwiches out of them for a limited time. It’s basically Van Leeuwen’s Ube Coconut Ice Cream smushed between a King’s Hawaiian ube coconut roll, and you can buy them for a limited time only at select Van Leeuwen scoop shops in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston. Heartbreaking, I know. I’ve already got a date set to check this out for myself. That’s what paying astronomical rent, gas, and grocery prices will do for a gal, I suppose. Is it worth it? I don’t know. Ask me next week.
