Lance might not be a company name that inspires as much manic obsession as Doritos or Takis, but the cracker brand has been around for over a century and is pretty much the gold standard when it comes to sandwich crackers. Even if you don’t know the name, you know the crackers—think about those orange cheese crackers sandwiching peanut butter. You know ‘em. And now Lance has brought a new cheesy sandwich cracker to market: Spicy Pimento Cheese.
If you haven’t experienced the joys of pimento cheese before, you’re probably not Southern. It’s a spreadable, dippable mix of cheddar cheese, mayo, and pimento peppers. And it’s deeee-licious. Seriously, if you give me a bowlful of pimento cheese and an entire bunch of celery, both will be gone in under 20 minutes.
These new Lance sandwich crackers consist of classic buttery cracker rounds spread with pimento cheese. They’re limited edition and you can find them in 10-packs at stores like Walmart, Kroger, and Meijer. But should you seek them out? Do they do justice to the glory of pimento cheese? I scarfed a few down to find out.

Pros: The spread really does taste like pimento cheese—probably because it pretty much is pimento cheese. Sure, it’s made with pimento powder, vinegar powder, and garlic powder instead of the fresh stuff, but mixed with real cheddar cheese it all comes together to create that very specific pimento cheese flavor. And don’t forget about the “spicy” in the name. The filling really is spicy—like, made me cough spicy—and there’s just enough of it. It doesn’t all spill out, but you can still taste it in every bite. The crackers are buttery and the size is perfectly snackable. These deserve a spot in the permanent Lance sandwich cracker line-up.
Cons: I wish they made a mild version as well as this spicy version so that more people could enjoy these crackers. The spicy flavor is definitely going to be too spicy for a lot of folks.
Verdict: If you can handle some heat, these are definitely worth buying. Honestly, I think these pimento cheese crackers are better than a lot of store-bought pimento cheese out there.

About the Author
Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients.
Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it.
What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now).
Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test!
Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
