We live in an age of weird, wacky, vaguely unexpected celebrity food collaborations, folks. Every day, another new one comes along. Over the last year, we’ve had condiments made by Glen Powell, we’ve had Slurpee flavors from Green Day, and we’ve seen more celebrity food brands than we can count. 2026 is gonna be no different, apparently – but this year, it looks like they’re gonna be, well, a little pricier.

Girl group KATSEYE gave us irrefutable proof of this in the last few days, when it was revealed that they’re collaborating with the famously bougie grocery chain Erewhon to release a new smoothie flavor. The price? $22. Look, we know that sounds expensive – but not all of it’s going to the store. Here’s the lowdown.
Smoothie, Gnarly
The Gabriela Smoothie by KATSEYE, which is now available at Erewhon, is being released in support of the Malala Fund, the nonprofit founded by Malala Yousafzai and her father. The nonprofit’s mission is to improve the availability of education for girls in countries like Afghanistan, Tanzania, and Brazil. While the smoothie is undeniably expensive, the fact that it contributes to a good cause makes it a lot more appealing (although Erewhon hasn’t stated what percentage of the sales will go towards the Fund).
Its ingredients list definitely also makes us want to try it. The Gabriela Smoothie has an organic coconut milk and coconut water base, and contains cherry, pineapple, mango, beet juice, dates, and coconut cream. Also included? Saffron (aka one of the priciest ingredients in the world) and ashwagandha. Well, you didn’t expect Erewhon to do this kinda thing by halves, did you?
Take Our Money, Erewhon
If you were expecting the high cost of this smoothie to put people off, it looks as though a lot of people are willing to pay the price. That’s if the comments in the Instagram post announcing the KATSEYE x Erewhon collaboration are anything to go by. “OMG!!! So exciting,” said a comment that gained almost a hundred likes. Another simply read, “Need.” The power of celebrity.
Different comments also pointed out that this is one of just many brand deals that the superstar girl group has collected in recent memory. They’re not wrong. Last year, KATSEYE collaborated with fast food chain Jollibee to release a pair of Korean BBQ menu items, and they’ve also partnered with brands like Lush and Glossier. Oh, and who could forget their iconic work with Gap, spawning a viral dance that felt like it went on forever (in internet terms, that means about two weeks, but hey – we definitely tried it, so we can’t judge).
Erewhon, meanwhile, has released smoothies with everyone from Sabrina Carpenter to Kacey Musgraves, to – most famously – Hayley Bieber. There’s no stopping this store from collecting famous names and sticking them on cold drinks.
