Mountain Dew keeps surprising us left and right with exciting releases that are planned for this year. We just dropped the news about the long sought-after HoneyDEW finally making its long-anticipated release in the United States this July. And now we’ve got yet another scoop on a new Mountain Dew flavor set to hit Walmart stores this June!
Doesn’t Walmart already have an exclusive Mountain Dew flavor?
Yes and no and also yes. While Walmart does currently have Mountain Dew Frostbite as an exclusive flavor, we learned late last year that it would be getting the boot this May. Frostbite was described as a “Cool Melon” flavor.
What new Mountain Dew flavor will replace Frostbite at Walmart?
According to Team Supernova on Instagram, Walmart is set to receive a new dragonfruit flavor of Mountain Dew aptly named Mountain Dew Dragonfruit. It is scheduled to be released in both bottles and cans in June. It is not listed as being limited time only.
Don’t you think that name is sort of… lame?
While I don’t disagree that Mountain Dew Dragonfruit is not the most exciting name, I can’t help but wonder if previous Walmart exclusive Mountain Dew Frostbite has something to do with it. While it is described as being “Cool Melon” flavor, Frostbite’s packaging only listed it as being a “Naturally and Artificially flavored DEW.” My personal guess is that this may have caused confusion about the actual flavor of Frostbite, which could have led to a decrease in sales. Walmart, of course, wants to avoid that. So, what better way to do so than just name the new Mountain Dew after its actual flavor.
Will this new Mountain Dew flavor be available in zero sugar?
No. But before you pick up your torches and pitchforks, there’s still hope. Previous Walmart exclusive Frostbite did have a zero sugar option, but it did not launch with it. Frostbite Zero Sugar launched a year later. So I think it is very safe to say that a Dragonfruit Zero Sugar could very much be in the cards in the future!
There needs to be a Mountain Dew Code Red Zero Sugar!!!!
I love trying the new flavors of mountain dew but why do they have to take the other flavors away just cause they have a new flavor like the baja blast point break punch that is the best one I think and then they take it away why can’t they just keep selling all the flavors instead of taking the best ones away just cause there’s a new flavor they need to bring back the baja blast point break punch
If it doesn’t come in zero sugar, I don’t give a shit about it. There’s many other soda flavors than moutain dew I like better since they actually care about their customers and make zero sugar flavors.
Take Dr. Pepper Blackberry and the Pepsi Wild Berrys and Cream for examplem I’m actually excited to try that since they released zero sugar versions along side their normal sugared versions. FUCK mountain dew, I hate that brand and I hope they die. They are awful with ANY zero sugar release and refuse to make those flavors widely available. I let everyone I know that they suck and to not to buy the mountain dew brand. Which, no one I know does.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mountain Dew Frostbite so I’ll probably never see Dragonfruit. But I’m excited to try it, if it ever comes to the local Walmarts

I think it’s cool I love trying new flavors but there is one I wish mt dew would bring back and that’s the trash apple now that one was great I would buy like 30 cases of it … so why did it get discontinued
