In a way, it’s wild to think that Nutella didn’t do ice cream before this moment. The chocolate-hazelnut spread has the ideal flavor profile for the frozen treat: It’s sweet, it’s creamy, it’s chocolatey without being overpowering, and it’s the kind of thing you want to spoon repeatedly into your mouth. Check, check, check, check. Up until now, though, the brand has kept away from the freezer aisle with a product of its very own. Yes, it’s featured in items like the Popeyes Nutella Sundae (available only in the Philippines), but it hasn’t been a creator – more of a participant.

As of this week, though, that’s all changed. Finally. Nutella has launched not one, but two new ice cream products in the US, and we suspect that these will be a big hit.

Nutella Ice Cream: A New World

We previously spoke about Nutella’s new ice cream way back in January, and to be honest, we thought they might have made it into stores before now. However, good things come to those who wait, and four months later, they’ve finally arrived.

And what an entrance. According to People, the brand is dropping its Nutella Ice Cream in fourteen-ounce tubs (which look pretty close to its jars, so just make sure you’re freezing the right one – okay, they’re not identical, but they’re similar enough!), and in single-serve wafer cones. The cones look especially exciting to us: A chocolate-lined cone full of Nutella-swirled ice cream, which is crowned with a further cap of chocolate. These are gonna be fun.

Where Can I Get Them? When Can I Get Them?

Well, we’ll answer the second one first. You can get them now. Yes, now. Yes, right now! Nutella Ice Cream dropped this week, and – to answer the first one – you can get it widely. Over at Walmart, a tub of the ice cream costs around $4.30 online, and the wafer cones (which come in a four-pack) cost around $5.30. That’s an online price, though, and it may vary at physical locations, and indeed from store to store.

What Else Has Nutella Been Up To?

It’s been a very busy year for the Italian brand. Last month, we were talking about Nutella Peanut, Nutella’s first new flavor in 60 years (hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it), and a couple of months before that we were discussing how it was stealing the show at the Winter Olympics, thanks to a mega-sized pump. It’s barely been out of the news, but seriously: The ice cream is the crowning glory of all of those stories. We would like to try it very, very soon.
