PepsiCo has blessed us with plenty of new soda flavors in 2024: Pepsi Lime and Pepsi Peach, Mtn Dew Infinite Swirl, a trio of patriotic Mtn Dews, Mtn Dew Baja Blast variations…okay, it’s mostly Mtn Dew. But now, PepsiCo is going even further with a whole line of entirely new sodas.
Thanks to super-soda extraordinaire Team Supernova, we have learned that Pepsi has conducted surveys on a new line of sodas called “Floats,” which put a spin on three of their existing products: Mug Root Beer, Pepsi, and Mtn Dew.
I have high hopes that the Mug Root Beer Floats will be very reminiscent of a classic root beer float. I grew up on Pepsi floats, so I am also eager to see how that might translate to a canned beverage. But I have high reservations about Mtn Dew Floats.
There’s not a lot of information about the “Floats” line at the moment, but sources say that they will not contain dairy (which has us curious what route Pepsi will take to create the “Float” experience) and will be available in both 12 packs and 20 oz bottles. From what our sources tell us, the testing phase went well and these new sodas are lined up for a release in 2025. So, if you are a fan of a classic float, mark your calendars, chill your glasses, and get ready. And if you can’t wait, Sporked has some ideas for unexpected but delicious float combos.
