Hard sodas have been big for a minute, but we predict that they’re gonna be even bigger this summer. In the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen drinks like Hard Mountain Dew get big publicity pushes (through some slightly wild stunts involving free pedicures, no less), and we’ve checked back in with brands like Surfside to check out their flavors. Clearly, there’s something in the air, and Popsicle knows it.

Hence, the release of its all-new Hard flavored ready-to-drink beverages, which have been created in collaboration with Tilray Brands, to give customers a drink that’ll simultaneously remind them of their youth while also providing a little buzz. We can already see this in parks and on beaches everywhere this summer. Here’s what we know.
Popsicle Hard: The Mash-Up You Never Knew You Needed
The creation of Popsicle Hard is, according to Tilray, intended to give people that feeling of nostalgia while also treating them like the adults that they are. “At Tilray Beverages, we are focused on building a dynamic portfolio of brands that connect with consumers across new occasions,” said Tilray’s Chief Growth Officer, Prinz Pinakatt, in a very corporate-sounding statement in its official press release. “Popsicle is an iconic, nostalgic brand beloved in households everywhere, and we see a tremendous opportunity to translate those familiar flavors into a new adult refreshment experience. This partnership demonstrates how Tilray’s beverage platform can bring innovative brand collaborations to market quickly and at scale.” And if there’s one thing we’ll all be discussing while we drink this thing, it’s how Tilray brought this innovative brand collaboration to market quickly and at scale.
Business jargon aside, this new drink does sound pretty exciting. Popsicle Hard will come in three flavors, Hard Cherry, Hard Orange, and Hard Grape, and each can will come in at 5% ABV. Additionally, there will also be an exclusive Hard Firecracker option, which will throw a Rocket Pop flavor into a can and hit it with a lil’ booze. If you don’t find that fun, we don’t know what to tell you.
Where Can I Find Popsicle Hard Drinks?
Popsicle Hard beverages will be launching at loads of major retailers across the country, including Walmart, Albertson’s, Kroger, Safeway, Ingles Markets, Food Lion, and Buc-ees. You can expect to find them from the end of this month onward, and they’ll be sold in 12-packs, each with four of the three main flavors. We would imagine you’ll be able to buy them separately, too.
As for the Rocket Pop/Firecracker flavor, that will be in stores from May onward, but you might wanna snap it up when you can, as it may just be a summer exclusive. Of course, if you want, you can carry on buying your favorite popsicles and spiking them yourself – but why not make your life a bit easier?
