Spring is here, summer is right around the corner, and it’s time for some well-earned brain freeze. Late last week, 7-Eleven added three new Slurpee flavors to its lineup of perennial faves like cherry, blue raspberry, and Coca-Cola. I’ve had plenty of ICEEs in my life, but I’ve never had a Slurpee, even though 7-Eleven always wins the “fizzy colorful slush” game on variety and creativity alone. These new offerings continue their slushy supremacy streak.
Their three spring flavors are (drumrollllll please):
Brisk Blood Orange, Vitaminwater XXX: Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate (alright, naming department…choices were made), and Mango Lemonade. What a mix! The first one supposedly contains “Brisk Iced Tea and the intense flavor of blood orange,” the second one is a confusing but not unappealing mix of “Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate flavor […] and vitamins B3, B6, and B12,” and the third one supposedly tastes like peeled grapes and Pop Rocks. Nah, I’m just kidding, it’s a blend of “mango flavor and tart lemonade.” Yum.
As for which of those I’d want to try first, probably the Mango Lemonade (I know, boring), but I definitely wouldn’t turn down the other two just so I could say I had them. I probably won’t get all of them on the same day, however, because, a.) I’m not sure if my brain can handle the continuous stream of sugar and brain freeze, and, b.) that much liquid at once would definitely make me have to Slurpee. Heh.
If y’all try any of these let me know! I’m most curious about the Vitaminwater XXX: Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate, mainly because I also happen to think that this will be the name of Elon Musk’s next child. It would be pronounced “Exablupomenate Darkness 3.” I’m callin’ it right now.
Have you never had the normal triple X Vitamin Water? It’s really tasty, especially with some sprite in it at El Pollo Loco.
