As much as I love Raising Cane’s sauce (and the Raising Cane’s sauce dupe at Walmart), I have always felt that it was second to Southern fast food chicken chain Zaxby’s signature Zax sauce. Well, good news, fellow fans of Zaxby’s and chicken dipping sauces alike: Zaxby’s is releasing not one, not two, but three Zaxby’s sauces in 16 oz bottles! And they’ll be on a grocery store shelf near you soon.
What is Zaxby’s?
Zaxby’s is a relatively new fast food chain that opened back in 1990 in Statesboro, Georgia. They specialize in all things chicken—wings, fingers, sandwiches, and more. But some would say that the real stars are the dipping sauces. Zaxby’s sauces range from basics like BBQ and ranch to specialty flavors like strawberry sauce, chipotle ranch, Wimpy, and, of course, their signature Zax Sauce, which has inspired wannabe dupe recipes across the internet.
Which Zaxby’s sauces can you buy?
The three new bottled Zaxby’s sauces are:
Zax Sauce: Zaxby’s says it’s “A recipe so secret, it’s locked in a vault (literally). The legendary Zax Sauce is a creamy, tangy sauce with a blend of signature spices.” It has hints of garlic and worcestershire sauce, but we won’t know exactly what the sauce contains until we get our hands on it. This Zaxby’s sauce is the GOAT. I personally swear by this sauce whenever I have an opportunity to visit the restaurant.
Spicy Zax Sauce: As the name implies, this is the signature Zax sauce with an added twist of heat. Zaxby’s poses the challenge, “Can you handle it?”
Tongue Torch Sauce: Zaxby’s describes this one thusly: “With aged peppers, garlic and mustard seeds, Tongue Torch Sauce has become an instant fan favorite.” With a name like Tongue Torch Sauce, I imagine it has a ton of heat.
Where can I buy Zaxby’s sauces? And when can I buy Zaxby’s sauces?
The sauces will be sold at Southern and Southeastern locations of Walmart, Kroger, and Winn Dixie. But if you don’t live in those areas, fear not, because Zaxby’s sauces will also be available for sale on Amazon! The 16 oz bottles of sauce will go on sale this month for around $4.50 each. Will they be any good? Will they be faithful dupes? Stay tuned for our review the moment we snag a few bottles.
