The leaves are changing, the air is chilling, and the pumpkin is spicing. Today, I’ve got two very seasonally-appropriate flavors of Bundtlets (single-serving bundt cakes) from Nothing Bundt Cakes: Pumpkin Spice and Caramel Apple Cider. Let’s crack into these “individually-sized” heaping hunks of cake and icing before the trend falls off.

Nothing Bundt Cakes Pumpkin Spice Bundtlet

New Nothing Bundt Cake!

Nothing Bundt Cakes Pumpkin Spice Bundtlet

Pros: This is an above-average pumpkin spice baked good! Considering how crowded the space is, that’s no small feat. The cake is moist and simple—no complicated inclusions, fillings, or toppings. You could give this to a pumpkin spice non-believer and they’d begrudgingly understand the hype.

Cons: It’s almost too simple. I’ll never complain about good cake, but part of Nothing Bundt Cakes’ charm is that many of the cakes are over the top in the best way. (Compare my thoughts on these two cakes and you’ll see what I mean.)

Nothing Bundt Cakes Caramel Apple Cider Bundtlet

New Nothing Bundt Cake!

Nothing Bundt Cakes Caramel Apple Cider Bundtlet

Pros: This is the best cake. The cinnamon cake itself is perfectly moist thanks to the inclusion of real apple cider in the baking process. That perfect cake is then coated with pure flavor in the form of caramel apple cinnamon sugar, Nothing Bundt Cakes’ classic icing, and a caramel sauce drizzle and filling to boot. I’m glad apple cider is getting recognized as a worthy challenger to pumpkin spice as the best autumn flavor. Give it a few more years, I think we’ll see apple cider reign supreme—even if Starbucks discontinued the Caramel Apple Spice drink because they hate me personally.

Cons: Sometimes my only complaint is that I can’t have a product more often. This is way too good to be sold for just two weeks a year. Indeed, I have failed you, audience—by the time you read this, the most autumnal Bundtlet will already be discontinued.

As mentioned, the Caramel Apple Cider Bundtlet will no longer be available by the time you read this review. That said, Nothing Bundt Cakes is launching Biscoff Cookie Butter cakes starting September 29th. You can also pick up a football-themed Snickers Touchdown cake now through October 5th and a mystery flavor starting October 20th. Basically, there’s no shortage of interesting seasonal flavors at Nothing Bundt Cakes no matter when you stop by. Let me know if I should keep covering releases from this unique dessert chain in the comments.
