Cast your mind back to September 2023. In theaters, you could choose between Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie or Saw X. The Writers Guild of America successfully ended their strike (ensuring they could go on to write the upcoming Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie and Saw 11 movies). And, most importantly, Ocean Spray partnered with Amazon to exclusively release a limited time juice flavor: CRAN X DRAGON FRUIT.

Yes, there was a cranberry juice you could only get on Amazon. It kinda went beverage-viral, which is to say, it sold out so fast. I picked up a few bottles before that first run sold out and I really enjoyed it at the time. The following year, the drink launched on shelves for a limited edition run that still couldn’t satiate the public’s needs. This time around, everyone will be able to enjoy CRAN X DRAGON FRUIT. I picked up a fresh bottle to give y’all the details so you know what to expect from this returning champion of the juice aisle.

Ocean Spray CRAN X DRAGON FRUIT

New Ocean Spray Juice!

Ocean Spray CRAN X DRAGON FRUIT

Pros: I know it’s weird to say this about a liquid that isn’t wine, but this is dry—as in not very sweet. That’s a reasonable thing to say about both dragon fruit and cranberries, so the dryness of the two combined shouldn’t come as a surprise. Speaking of things that sound obvious, this juice cocktail sure is fruity! The combination of fruits results in a flavor that’s very unique (no small feat when it’s surrounded by a dozen or so other “CRAN X” variants). It’s quite pleasant and should be permanent. It’s only a matter of time, right?

Cons: Dragon fruit is a little ambiguous in flavor compared to the strength of cranberry; it’s definitely not just cranberry, but I’m not so familiar with dragon fruit that I can pick out the finer details of those flavors. And for some of my fellow taste testers, this juice was dry to a fault. Not everything can be for everyone, I guess.

Where can I find this new(ish) Ocean Spray flavor for myself?

While this drink started as an Amazon exclusive (which is still such a weird idea, I’ll never get over the phrase “Amazon exclusive juice”), you can now find this on shelves at retailers like Walmart. (Depending on timing, it might be still available when the new Dragon Fruit Mountain Dew launches at Walmart!) It is also available on Amazon, in case you’re the person who buys juice on the internet.

This is old news; what’s coming next from Ocean Spray?

In the very same announcement of the return of CRAN X DRAGON FRUIT, Ocean Spray revealed an upcoming Walmart-exclusive juice that’s truly unique: Strawberry Shortcake. Keep your eyes right here on Sporked for a review coming as soon as we can find this new dessert juice for ourselves.
