We thought it would never come. Actually, who are we kidding – we knew it would. The chances of Prime dropping a bunch of summer savings in the run-up to July 4 were always high (it wasn’t about to be outdone by everyone else, was it?), but with just a few days to go until the day itself, it was all starting to look a bit close to the bone. But lo, a press release approacheth! And we now know, in full, what Amazon has planned for its Prime members.

These savings extend just a touch beyond July 4, too. Let’s break it down.
Prime’s Summer Savings: From Gas To Groceries
Prime’s press release, which dropped yesterday, detailed the savings that its members can expect over the next week or so. First, let’s talk gas: From July 2 to July 5, Prime, Prime Access, and Prime for Young Adults members can all save $0.50 per gallon on a single fuel purchase. If you’ve got a road trip planned ahead of the weekend (or you’re driving back on Sunday, perhaps with a sore head), you can stop off at bp, Amoco, and participating ampm and Thorntons locations across the U.S to top up at a discount. You’ll need to link your Amazon Prime account with an earnify one to take advantage of this: Full details here.
Next up, it’s groceries – and Prime is vying for your attention this year, with lower-priced snacks, appetizers, sides, produce, and meats. Ahead of the July 4 weekend, you can find select bags of Ruffles and Lay’s chips, Amazon Grocery sides, and desserts starting from $2, and grilling meats like Amazon Grocery chicken thighs, Amazon Grocery 85% lean ground beef burgers, and Ball Park Classic Hot Dogs under $10. This is on top of the previously announced ice cream discounts at Whole Foods, which run until July 7.
Prime Access Savings
Prime has also announced that its Prime Access members (income-verified customers and government assistance recipients) who have access to full Prime benefits will receive further savings throughout the summer. From July to September, Prime Access members will get $5 in credit per month if they make eligible orders of $25 or more on grocery and essential items. This $5 credit will recur each month, for a total of $15 of savings.
These Prime deals follow a Dunkin’ deal a few weeks back for Prime Day — and now that’s over, they’re not stopping. Your July 4 foods are covered.
