We Got An Early Taste Of Red Bull Winter Edition 2026: Pistachio & Berries

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, not because of any particular holiday or change in climate–it’s new Red Bull season. This time around, the Austrian energy-drink giant has blessed us with a pretty unique flavor combination for Winter Edition 2026: Pistachio & Berries. Props to Red Bull for hearing my complaints about the shift toward universal energy-drink trends these days and going in a completely different direction.

Red Bull was nice enough to send over their new Advent Calendar, which features a myriad of Red Bull drinks including the full sugar and Sugarfree versions of Winter Edition 2026 and a few cans of Winter Edition 2020: Arctic Berry (dubbed the “Festive Edition” this time around as the Advent Calendar exclusive flavor). Let’s crack these open and see whether the vague appeal of “& Berries” can conquer our collective fear of Pistachio in energy form.

New Red Bull Flavor!

Pros: True to the name, Red Bull Winter Edition 2026 has a solid mixed-berry flavor with a light nuttiness that really delivers the “Winter” of it all. I think this drink has real potential for some fun seasonal cocktails. Red Bull Winter Edition 2026 won’t get the cult following the last two Winter Editions have cultivated, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing; there’s only so much room on store shelves, and the last two Winter Editions are hogging space for good reason.

Cons: This has a mysterious funkiness I wouldn’t instinctively attribute to Pistachio if I didn’t know the flavor in advance. Nuttiness isn’t inherently positive in an energy drink context; I’m not really for or against it here, but it might be best to keep it off the flavor trends list moving forward.

New Red Bull Flavor!

Pros: The artificial sweetener delivers a lighter, sweeter flavor profile than the full-sugar version, which will likely land better with most people– including my fellow taste-testers, of whom I was the only one to prefer the full-sugar version.

Cons: That said, these were the same taste-testers who tried the last few Winter Editions with me, and we’re all unified in one thought: Pistachio & Berries isn’t putting up any fight against Iced Vanilla Berry or Fuji Apple & Ginger.
