Last week, we were talking about Sam’s Club’s Thanksgiving meal, which the store is offering this year for less than $10 per person. Although that’s a lot pricier per head than those sold by the likes of Aldi and Target, Sam’s Club’s is definitely designed to be way more of a feast. Alongside your standard turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, and dinner rolls, you’ll also get mac and cheese, sides of green beans with cranberries and almonds, two pumpkin pies, sweet corn, and – perhaps most exciting of all for us cured meat lovers – a charcuterie tray.

That last item was around last year, too, but eagle-eyed customers have noticed that Sam’s Club has changed it up slightly for 2026. If this is a yearly purchase for you, you might wanna take note of these alterations.

Sam’s Club Charcuterie Entertainment Tray

This year, Sam’s Club’s Charcuterie Entertainment Tray has everything you’d expect from a serving platter designed to be placed in the center of the table at the end of a meal, with as little work as possible. According to its website, the tray is composed of a selection of cured meats, including hot soppressata, prosciutto, and Genoa salami; cheeses like Havarti dill, brie, and natural smoked gouda; and a combination of extras, which include a Greek olive medley, fig jam, stone-ground mustard, mixed nuts, pepper jelly, and multigrain crackers. You can grab it with the rest of its Thanksgiving selection, or you can get it on its own for just under $30 (it serves 10 to 12 people, just so you’re aware).

But wait! What’s that we spy? A change? Yes: Last year, the Charcuterie Entertainment Tray contained sharp cheddar instead of brie. As a sharp Sam’s Club observer noted on @samsclubfavorites’ post about the tray, the quantities are also slightly different: This year’s tray seems to have more olives.

A Scandal! Surely, Everyone’s Furious About This Change?!

It doesn’t seem like it. It’s probably blindingly obvious that this is a pretty minor change (a single cheese swap and some more olives), and it’s not really enough to prompt anything but a mild furrowed brow from the majority of people. However, we’d put it out there that this change feels like a good one: Brie has always felt a little more special on a cheeseboard than cheddar to me, and I’m never going to complain about a few extra olives. This change is arguably more notable because it’s a nice example of a retailer not making their products worse year-on-year, and instead just changing things up a little. And if you had your heart set on a sharp cheddar in this tray, just grab an extra block and throw it in. More for everyone.
