Oh, it’s all getting delightfully autumnal, isn’t it?! I’ve started to feel those first chilly winds rustling my hair, and the nights suddenly feel a lot longer than they did just a couple of weeks ago. I’ve now switched to jeans for the foreseeable future; I’m debating whether hanging my washing outside is still worth the hassle; I’m having to stop my cat from eating the abundance of brown leaves that have started to show up in my garden. He does it anyway when I’m not looking. It’s a constant battle.

In short, fall has arrived, and stores like Sam’s Club are all-in. The retailer has been getting cozy for a minute with the release of its Member’s Mark Lasagna Soup, the return of its Cherry Lattice Pie, and all manner of similarly seasonal food drops. Now, another of its prepared meals has returned to warm your cockles.
Member’s Mark Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup is back in stock in its prepared foods section, and its customers are very pleased. We were talking about this ready-to-go meal just a few days ago, but weren’t quite anticipating how much people would be jazzed about its return – hence a more focused discussion on its merits.
If you like warming, comforting bowls of food, those merits will be both evident and plentiful. Member’s Mark Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup is a hearty combo of white and dark meat chicken, long-grain rice, onions, celery, carrots, and aromatic herbs in a creamy, sherry-inflected broth. I should point out that each serving is very salty (900 milligrams per cup, or nearly 40% of your daily recommended allowance), but in terms of flavor, it very much hits the spot with Sam’s Club shoppers.
Oh, Yeah?
Yeah. When this appeared in stores a few days ago, prominent Sam’s Club watcher and food reviewer @samsclubfoodreview (I probably didn’t need to say they reviewed its food, given the account name, but hey – did it anyway!) posted both a sighting and a reflection on the dish, namely to see whether it’s as good as it was before. Apparently, it is: The broth is a real highlight, with a good depth of flavor and the sherry note shining through, while the rice has a genuinely satisfying, chewy texture. No mush here, thankfully. These sentiments were shared by plenty of people in the comment section, who clearly have a lot of time for the soup — and over on the Sam’s Club website, it’s rocking nearly 800 five-star reviews. Put the microwave on, kick back, and relax.
