We’re in the final push for July 4 food, folks – so if you’ve been keeping tabs on your favorite brand or retailer, waiting for them to put something out ahead of Saturday, there’s time! The menu items and products are still trickling in, and with four days to go, it’s all to play for. The latest one has come courtesy of Sam’s Club, which has just announced that, amongst its new items this week, it’s dropping a very patriotic sundae, ahead of Saturdae (sorry, I had to, I couldn’t resist).

And the best part? It really won’t break the bank. Here’s what you need to know.

Sam’s Club Americana Sundae

Sam’s Club has just dropped its Americana Sundae in its in-store cafés, and Food & Wine brought us the lowdown on all the details. This frozen yogurt sundae is the epitome of summer, and of the day it’s being released in honor of – and pleasingly, it skips all of the red, white and blue tones that have been adorning every single product release since around May.

Instead, it’s pretty simple: The Americana Sundae starts with a vanilla frozen yogurt base and is layered with pieces of apple pie. It’s finished off with a swirl of whipped topping. Sam’s Club has confirmed that the sundae will cost under $2, too, no matter where you’re buying it. Given that it could have used the holiday to jack up the prices, we very much appreciate the restraint.

Sweet As Apple Pie

Sam’s Club isn’t just using any old apple pie in its Americana Sundae: It’s opted for an award-winner. The sundae’s pie layer is made with pieces of Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark Honeycrisp Apple Lattice Pie, which, as a Sam’s Club representative says to Food & Wine, was “crowned as a 2024 national champion by the American Pie Council.” It’d just be a shame not to sample such a coveted combination of pastry and apples, now, wouldn’t it? We think so. We really do.

Sam’s Club’s Americana Sundae is available from today, June 30, and unlike other July 4 foods, it’ll be sticking around for a while: You have until July 31 to find it in all of its stateside stores. Plus, you don’t have to be a member to try it: Unlike Costco, which recently rolled out changes to its food courts to make it harder for non-members to eat there, Sam’s Club’s sundae is available to anyone who cares to sample such delights. Respect.
