It’s another day and another dollar for Shaquille O’Neal. The king of collabs has teamed up with 7-Eleven to Shaq-ify the infamous Slurpee—or should I say, Slurpee-ify the infamous Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies. That’s right, Shaq has created a new Sour Pineapple Slurpee based on the fan-favorite Sour Pineapple flavor of his gummy candy.
Wait, Shaq-A-What gummies?
If you’ve never tried Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies…well, what have you tried? Clearly not joy, whimsy, or a light-hearted giggle with friends in the candy aisle of 7-Eleven. In her review from last September, Sporked writer Ariana Losch called the gummies, “100% Shaq-A-Licious” and added, “I don’t fully know what that means, but it’s definitely a good thing.” I concur. I’m not here to tell you that Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies should be your candy of choice all the time, but some of them are shaped like Shaq’s head, so they’re worth a try—and Sour Pineapple is definitely the best flavor.
What will Shaq’s Slurpee really taste like?
Not only is Sour Pineapple the best Shaq-A-Licious flavor, it’s also, in my opinion, a great flavor for a Slurpee. I think the sweet, tangy brightness of the flavor mixed with the one-of-a-kind icy freshness of a Slurpee (one of the best beverage innovations of all time) will make for a zingy, refreshing treat. Even if this new Slurp wasn’t connected to Shaq (who I clearly think deserves our attention), I would still be hyped to try it.
When and where will the Sour Pineapple Slurpee be available?
Shaq’s Slurpee is available now through April 29 at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores nationwide. They even threw in a lil promo for any sad souls who have yet to try the XL gummies: You can snag a 6.2oz bag of Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies for only $2 when you buy any size Slurpee…although, I think it’s only right that you get an extra large.
