It was only a matter of time: Barista. The word “bear.” The words make for a natural union―also probably a lot of fun and colorful puns on coffee shop chalkboards.

Of course, the good people at Starbucks realized this a few years ago, and came out with the first-ever “Bearista” cup. Originally released in their South Korean market in 2023, the first “Bearista” was exactly what it sounds like―a (very collectible and very breakable) glass cold cup in the shape of a bear. Almost an instantaneous icon (it even had the requisite hipster beanie), Starbucks brought the Bearista to the US late last year. While it’s been rumored to return, we’re finally getting confirmation that we’ll be able to get our hands on this little guy again this July.
The Pink Bearista™ Glass Cold Cup
It’s so cute we can’t bare it. Yeah, we said it―and we mean it. Try to look this thing in its adorably manufactured eyes and not let out an involuntary “Awwww.” The latest “Bearista” was designed in honor of the Pink Drink―a longtime customer favorite made with strawberry acai beverage concentrate, coconut milk, and dehydrated strawberry pieces (I should know, once upon a time I hand-crafted about a thousand of them).
No shock to anyone who’s had a pink drink, the new Bearista is a creamy color of pink with an adorably curious expression and a little visor that says Starbucks. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a strawberry sticking out of the top. No joke, it’s not hard to imagine more than a few Starbucks merch superfans opting to cuddle with the cup instead of using it as an eco-friendly drinks vessel.
When Can I Have One, or Two, or Seventeen?
If you’re a Starbucks Rewards Reserve member, you can order your Pink Drink Cold Bearista through the Starbucks online shop starting on July 9th. This means that if you’re not a Rewards Reserve member, there’s still time to upgrade. The rest of us will have to wait until July 13th, when the Pink Bearista™ Glass Cold Cup will be available in limited supplies in select Starbucks stores nationwide.
In true Starbucks collectible fashion, there’s a limit of two Bearistas per customer. And as a former barista―not a bearista― I know how intense merch-passion gets. And so does my therapist. So if you’re really interested in getting your paws, ahem, on your two allowed Pink Bearistas, call your local Starbucks in advance and get there early.
