I personally feel that we take Starburst for granted. The candy’s always just…there, in the background, ever-ready to be bought and eaten – but it doesn’t quite have the pizzazz that some other options do. Every now and then, Starburst mixes it up (it was a big moment for us when it brought back its Sour Fruit Chews last year), but most of the time, it’s an old faithful. A constant presence. Immovable as the mountains.

So when that innovation we mentioned rears its head, we’re ready to sit up and listen – even if it’s not changing things THAT much. We’ve got some new creamy Starburst flavors on their way to stores, and here’s what you should know.
Starburst Fruit Crème Fruit Chews
Word on the street – ie., word on @candyhunting’s Instagram page – is that Starburst is getting ready to drop its Fruit Crème Fruit Chews to the masses. The new candy is currently being lined up to be reviewed (Starburst, we’re here if you need us), and so it shouldn’t be too long before it drops in stores. When it does, you can likely expect to find them wherever you get Starburst – but don’t hold me to that, okay?!
As for what’s in each bag or package, Starburst’s new Fruit Chews will come in four flavors: Crème Peach, Crème Orange, Crème Strawberry, and Crème Grapefruit. Crème Grapefruit, you say? It could be a hit! It’s interesting that Starburst has largely sidestepped its formerly successful berry-and-cream combo here in favor of a couple of citrus-and-cream options – but the latter has been very in vogue this year, what with the proliferation of orange cream drinks that we’ve seen everywhere. We see you, Starburst; we see you jumping on board with that trend. And we don’t mind it.
The People Yearn For Berries…
That said, @candyhunting’s comment section was immediately awash with people asking for Starburst to bring back its Berries and Cream flavor, which was last seen around 2017. Others questioned whether people would actually want grapefruit and cream…only to be contradicted by other commenters who said yes, they did! And I do too, to be honest. Not that I’m not a fan of the sourness of grapefruit, but anything that smooths it out a little is good in my book.
We’ll just have to wait and see whether Starburst sticks the landing with this one, though. Watch this space, people!
