6 Stocking Stuffers You Can Buy at the Grocery Store

The holiday season is here, and those stockings aren’t going to stuff themselves. Luckily, after doing some grocery recon, I can now offer you, beloved reader, a list of some of the best edible stocking stuffers you can find at the grocery store. And while, yes, it is very fun to whittle down a candy cane to a point to poke and torment all your siblings with, this list is so much more than candy canes and pain. We’re doubling down on chocolate this holiday season.

Hot Chocolate Bombs

Personally, my goal is to be as full of hot chocolate as the end of the year is full of holiday cheer. And what better way to fill oneself with cocoa than by treating your mug like a tub and throwing a nice hot chocolate bomb in there? Any person in your life who loves self care and chocolate will enjoy a nice hot chocolate bomb in their stocking this year. There’s no wrong answers when it comes to chocolate bombs, but this set from BomBombs contains 20 separate chocolate bombs, meaning ten of your favorite people could get two cups of chocolate joy—and you get the gift of being the best stuffer of stockings.

Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe’s

These Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe’s come in a rectangular box that’s the perfect shape for a stocking stuffer. If you’re not familiar, Joe Joe’s are Trader Joe’s version of Oreos. The regular ones are good, the Candy Cane ones are great, but this chocolate-covered peppermint version takes holiday joy to a whole new level. Imagine if Thin Mints had a beefy, jolly older brother—that’s who we’re dealing with here.

Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Squares

When I think of the holidays, I think of peppermint. And while I wouldn’t dare give someone peppermint tea as a stocking stuffer, lest I make a new mortal enemy, I would definitely throw some peppermint bark in there. Ghirardelli’s Peppermint Bark Squares are individually wrapped, making it easy to toss a few into a loved one’s stocking, while also saving some to stuff in your pockets for a mid-Christmas-morning snack. If you’re feelin’ extra cheery, you can pick up the snowman-shaped ones instead!

Chocolate Coins

Unless you’re rich—how nice for you—you’re probably not stuffing your family members’ stockings with cold hard cash. The next best thing? Coins made of chocolate. Giving the gift of chocolate coins is tradition for both Hanukkah and Christmas. And no one can stay mad when they discover they were just gifted a bag of fake money because, hey, chocolate!

Terry’s Chocolate Orange Toffee

As the old saying goes, you can’t go wrong with a chocolate orange. Okay, maybe that isn’t an old saying, but it’s true, especially if the chocolate orange contains sweet little toffee bits too. Terry’s Chocolate Oranges come in white, milk, and dark chocolate varieties, but the unsung hero of the bunch is the toffee version. For anyone who hasn’t had a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, it is  creamy chocolate with a little bit of zippy orange zest, all in the shape of an orange. It’s fun to eat and easy to share since the chocolate is already divided into little orange slices.

Pepperidge Farm Pirouette Wafers

Something about a tin of chocolate-filled wafers feels oh-so-festive to me. Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes are crunchy, decadent, and so fun to eat that before you know it, you’ll have taken down an entire container in one sitting. The cylindrical tin the cookies come in is great for big stockings, and it gives you something to snack on while everyone else opens their gifts.
