In all their “swicy” goodness!

If you’re not familiar with them, Gushers were one of the most beloved fruit snacks of the 1990s, and combined the chewy goodness of gummy candies mixed with a sweet liquid center, that, well, “gushed.”

(And if you need more detail on how and why they “gushed,” we explored that in an earlier article.)

And while Gushers faded out of the spotlight for a while, their manufacturer, General Mills, is still putting them out. And the recent wave of ’90s nostalgia has only made these juicy fruit snacks more popular, and now they’ve brought back one of their most infamous ’90s flavors. Here’s what you need to know!

What are Sweet & Fiery Gushers?

Sweet & Fiery Gushers were a spicy form of Gushers that hit stores in 2018. They came in three flavors: Hot Mango, Fiery Peach, and Spicy Watermelon. Fans appreciated their mix of sweetness and their surprising amount of heat, with one contemporary review writing, “these are best suited for those with, dare I say, more complex palates. People like their parents, or 20-something college students who have self-confessed Chipotle addictions.”

These spicy little treats were reportedly discontinued in 2019, but now they’re offering a new, updated version of them, although they’ve ditched the “Fiery Peach” flavor, releasing just “Hot Mango” and “Spicy Watermelon.” But according to the cartoon thermometer on the bag, they should still be pretty hot.

Where can you find ’em?

So far they’ve shown up at Target, where you can pick up a 5.13 oz bag of them for $2.49. You can also check them out on the Target website here.
