Taco Bell and Salt & Straw have teamed up to finally bring some good news to this crazy world. I’m talking about a limited-edition dessert taco—one that barely took three days to go viral. It’s called the Tacolate… and it might look a little familiar.

Wait, wait, wait. Is this a Klondike Choco Taco?

Nope! But the Choco Taco (known as the “Original Ice Cream Taco,” which was discontinued back in 2022) is certainly the inspiration behind it. The Tacolate takes the classic dessert taco and gives it the Salt & Straw treatment. Aka, makes it bougie.

What exactly is a Tacolate? And how is Taco Bell involved?

Picture it: a waffle cone taco shell holding cinnamon ancho chili ice cream (hubba hubba), all dipped in single-origin chocolate and toasted quinoa for extra crunch. I’m salivating. The Taco-Bell-of-it-all? The brand created the two sauces that come with each order: Mango Jalapeño and Wildberry Cinnamon.

Ariana, how much is this going to cost? The Klondike Choco Taco was, like, two bucks.

Look, I don’t have an exact answer for you, since everything around me has already sold out. But IG user @foodatdisney did grab one in Downtown Disney for $8.50. I’m personally choosing not to get too discouraged by that price point. The cinnamon ancho chili ice cream alone sounds worth the cost to me… even if the taco looks a little small in the photo.

Where and when can I buy this majestic dessert taco?

The Tacolate officially dropped on October 3rd, and you can find it at Salt & Straw locations across the U.S.! Many places have already sold out of their first batch, so you’ll want to check your nearest Salt & Straw to see if they still have them. Or join their current waitlist for nationwide orders. (Maybe one day, if we plead loudly enough, we can get these at a Taco Bell drive-thru, too.)

Sadly, I can never move back to my home state, Florida, because even if the seafood is totally unmatched, there aren’t enough Mediterranean or Korean restaurants to keep me sane.
