If you asked anyone 20 years ago whether THC products would be everywhere in 2026, they’d probably have raised an eyebrow at you before saying “absolutely not.” But, here we are, and – yep – they’re everywhere. THC edibles and drinks are now widespread, and we’ve tried (and love) a lot of the latter. Are they mainstream yet, though?

Well, if a recent move from Target is anything to go by, we’d say so. The retailer is expanding its THC drinks stock and their availability in its stores across three states. Here’s what we know.
THC in Target
According to BevNET, Target is set to add hemp drinks to more than 300 of its stores across Texas, Florida, and Illinois. In the former two states, all of its stores will now stock THC drinks, while in the latter, it’ll only stock them in select locations, given that some municipalities and townships restrict the sale of said products.
The rollout of THC drinks in these states follows an earlier pilot period in Minnesota last year, which seemed to prove successful. Target itself has stated that its stocking of THC beverages is a reflection of what its shoppers are looking for. “At Target, we’re always exploring new ways to meet our guests’ evolving preferences, grounded in our merchandising authority and focus on thoughtfully curating a relevant assortment,” a spokesperson said to BevNET.
As for what customers will be able to purchase, sources have stated that brands that were available during its first launch in Minnesota, like Wynk, Cann, Stigma, and Gigli, will also be available in Texas, Florida, and Illinois. We’d also gently suggest stocking Kick Fizz Evening Buzz, given that it was recently named the best THC drink out there. Customers must be over 21 to purchase these drinks, which look as though they’ll be available in 5mg and 10mg varieties.
But What About the Ban?
Ah, yes – the ban. Target’s move to stock THC drinks in more stores is obviously a little tricky, given that a federal ban on THC-infused drinks (and foods) is due to come into place in November 2026. According to sources, the retailer has one eye on this date and may well be planning to wind down its THC drinks stock towards that month if it looks as though the ban will indeed come into place.
That said, it’s still all to play for at this point – and Target has clearly spotted a gap in its inventory that customers are asking for. Will other retailers follow suit? Only time will tell.
