The Best Things We Ate This Week (June 19-23)

Every week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Trader Joe’s Vegan Tzatziki

Not only is Trader Joe’s vegan tzatziki a great vegan dip, but it’s also better than their dairy-based tzatziki. It’s really creamy. There’s not weird taste that sometimes comes with artificial dairy, like coconut or almond. This really tastes like cucumbers, yogurt, and dill. I cannot imagine how delicious this would be in a vegan pita wrap. Buy this ASAP.

POM Pomegranate Lemonade Tea

POM Pomegranate Lemonade Tea was one of the best Arnold Palmers I tried in our half tea, half lemonade taste test. It’s so light and refreshing. It’s not too sweet or too sour. It’s perfectly balanced. It was extra surprising because I didn’t know POM made things that weren’t exclusively pomegranate.

Häagen-Dazs Double Belgian Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

You really get the double chocolate in this Häagen-Dazs Double Belgian Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. It’s so wonderfully chocolatey. And, as always, Häagen-Dazs has the creamiest ice cream bases. It reminded managing editor Gwynedd Stuart of chocolate soft-serve dipped in chocolate shell. If you’re a chocolate lover, you’ll want to try this ice cream.

Tapatío Ketchup

Tapatío ketchup is perfect. It’s not surprising, though. The beloved hot sauce brand knows how to make great Tapatío-flavored products. This tastes like Tapatío mixed with ketchup, but it tastes better than mixing ketchup and Tapatio together yourself. Trust me, I’ve done it many times.

Greek Gods Honey Vanilla Yogurt

This is the best yogurt. Ever. In the history of the world. A better yogurt has never existed. There are lots of great yogurts, don’t get me wrong, but this stuff is unreal. It’s sweet without being too sugary. It’s super thick. It tastes almost like créme brûlée or flan. After tasting this honey vanilla yogurt, I will never buy another vanilla yogurt again.
