Everyone has their own little secrets when it comes to Costco. Personally, mine is to skip grabbing a cart so you can dodge through the chaos. The downside is that you can only grab a few things but I’m shopping for one after all, so it’s not that big of a deal.

This week I saw an AskReddit thread asking what items make Costco worth it. There were a number of answers ranging from cleaning supplies, travel packages, and, of course, the reason we’re here―food. We always gotta talk about food.
Better Than Bouillon Organic Roasted Chicken Base
Better Than Bouillon will cost you half as much when you buy a bigger jar at Costco than it does at a regular grocery store. That’s bonkers! Granted you’re getting a jar that’s 2.5x the size of a regular jar so it’ll definitely last you for quite some time. Worst case scenario, you can start to hand scoopfuls to any visitors you have until it’s gone.
Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken
Someone else mentioned it first, not me!! Yes, this does feel like cheating but it’s still a valid answer so it needs to be said. Costco’s rotisserie chicken is literally sold for less than the cost of production. You’re quite literally leaving money on the table if you don’t grab one every time you’re in the store.
Kirkland Signature Organic Pure Maple Syrup
This one’s my personal favorite. You can always find Kirkland Signature maple syrup in my fridge. Life with pure maple syrup is just better and I’m tired of pretending like that’s not true. Do yourself a favor and get a substantial jug of maple syrup from Costco for only $14.99!
Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Butter
Whether you think this is an exact dupe for Kerrigold butter or not, it’s still a dang good deal on butter. The beauty of buying butter in bulk is that you can freeze the heck out of it and not notice a thing when you defrost it. Then again, it might not even come to that. There’s butter in dang near everything so could also just get a new pack every time you visit Costco.
Kirkland Signature Liquor
There’s nothing I wouldn’t trust as long as it has the Kirkland Signature name attached to it. Especially the liquor. This stuff is high quality, it’ll get you highly drunk, and it’s highly voluminous. That is, you can get a big bottle for not a lot of money! Most bottles of liquor at Costco will set you back at maximum the equivalent of two drinks at a bar.
Kirkland Signature Extra Fancy Mixed Nuts
We’re going nuts for nuts at Costco! Costco has a whole aisle dedicated to nuts. It’s a nut lover’s dream. Walk through the nut aisle and let your heart guide you. You really can’t go wrong. They’ve got cashews, pecans, almonds, and even extra fancy mixed nuts!
