These Popular Oreos Just Got Turned Into Ice Cream

After all, Oreo has more than one way to sandwich some creme between two cookies. A little variety in the frozen bar section seems like it was only a matter of time. And now, the time has come.

Golden Oreos Are Going Frozen

Golden Oreos still have the familiar Oreo creme in the middle, but the vanilla cookies give them a sweeter, lighter flavor. The cookies are already sold in larger packs, including Party Size and Family Size versions at Walmart, so there’s certainly no shortage of Golden Oreos for anyone who wants to keep a stash in the pantry.

Now, those Golden Oreos are getting their own frozen dessert bar.

The new Golden Oreo Frozen Dairy Dessert Bars are made with Golden Oreo cookie pieces and come five bars to a box. Just like the original Oreo frozen bars, the new Golden Oreo Bar package is 13.7 fluid ounces in total, with one bar being about 56 grams.

The new frozen bar was spotted ahead of its retail debut and it is expected to head to major stores soon. There’s no confirmed price or exact nationwide release date yet, but the current Oreo Frozen Dairy Dessert Bars sell for around $5.63 at Walmart, which gives you a rough idea of what the Golden version could cost.

Oreo Already Makes Frozen Bars

As I mentioned before, Oreo already has Oreo Frozen Dairy Dessert Bars and they are still selling pretty well on Walmart. The chocolate Oreo Bars have a creme-flavored frozen dairy dessert with Oreo cookie pieces, along with a coating made with crushed Oreo cookie pieces.

The Oreo Frozen Dairy Dessert Bars comes five bars to a box and has the same 13.7-fluid-ounce (406 mL) package size as the new Golden Oreo Bars. 

So, the new Golden bar is not replacing the original frozen Oreo bar. It is adding a Golden Oreo version to the lineup.

Coming To Major Stores Soon

The Golden Oreo Frozen Dairy Dessert Bars are expected to hit major stores soon, but an exact release date and price have not been confirmed from the information currently available.

The packaging does confirm the important stuff: five frozen dairy dessert bars per box, 13.7 fluid ounces and Golden Oreo cookie pieces.
