True metal heads know that the heavy metal band Iron Maiden is having a moment (though some would argue that they’re always having a moment). They’re one of the most enduring bands in the space, but the momentum is particularly palatable for the United States. They’ll be in town this September for their Run For Your Lives tour and releasing their Burning Ambition documentary this spring. To celebrate the occasion, they’re going all out.

First Comes The Beer
Celebrities in the alcohol space are not a rarity these days. We’re not mad about it―it’s just an observation. Iron Maiden is following the trend by working with Lagunitas Brewing Company to release the Trooper IPA. It’s a bold West Coast IPA that marries Iron Maiden’s legacy in both music and beer, with Lagunitas’s unmistakably adventurous brewing style. At 6.6% ABV, the beer offers a slightly elevated strength that strikes the perfect balance between intensity and drinkability―appealing to hop enthusiasts and casual craft beer fans alike.
“Big Flavor, Zero Compromise”
That’s their tagline. Now I’m not sure what compromises there would be in making your own IPA, but I’ll play along for their sake. The beer drops on June 6th and will be available in TotalWine, BevMo, Spouts, Publix, Trader Joe’s (which is getting their highest volume). Regional chains and independent retailers will also be getting the beer, so it’s worth checking out your local store if you’re particular about who you support.
How To Become The Beer Roadie
Okay, I had to give a little backstory to get us here. How else would a “beer roadie” make sense? For the super fans out there, Lagunitas is also rolling out the Beer Roadie competition. Launching June 6th on BeerRoadie.com, fans will be able to enter an online contest to land a paid gig helping bring Trooper IPA to life on the ground.
This will take place at Eddie’s Dive Bar events―Iron Maiden’s pre-show bar takeovers where fans gather to raise a glass and get properly warmed up before the concerts begin. One lucky fan will receive a paid ambassador role at select Run For Your Lives tour stops across the U.S. this fall. The tricky part? They haven’t actually announced the U.S. locations for the Eddie’s Dive Bar events yet. I guess they’re looking for a true free spirit to sign on! If you want to apply, all it takes is submitting a 30-second video on the site.
