This New Dave’s Hot Chicken Collab Is A Vintage Comic Dream

X-Men ‘97 fans, get excited! To celebrate the release of Season Two of the show, X-Men is partnering with Dave’s Hot Chicken to release a collab meal! Now, we don’t have all the details yet. All the information that’s out comes from a teaser showing off the toys that will be available and the packaging for the meal box. (Which looks super cool―we’re ready for a new adult meal box.) Two teasers can be seen on Dave’s Instagram and the figures have been seen in ads on Hulu and several different apps including the MLB app.

What We Know

It might be hard to track down information about what exactly this collab will contain, but we’re excited to see it. X-Men is a classic―a comic book nerd’s dream collab. With so many places collaborating with singers or following newer media, it’s nice to see a dive into the past. This collab is shaping up to be a real nostalgic bomb. (And hopefully a flavor bomb.)

Reddit has been on the case and several have called into stores to inquire about the collab. Stores are tightlipped, but have confirmed that something with X-Men is coming. With a meal box being included in the promotions, we can only assume that there will either be a new special meal or a meal deal that includes the toy. 

What We’d Love To See

We’re hoping for a fun, themed meal with limited flavors. We think there’s real potential for a good sauce coming from an X-Men collab. Something a little fiery for Dark Phoenix maybe? (We know that she’s not part of the ‘97 show. Yet. But it’s a good tie in.) Maybe a Bub chicken sandwich for everyone’s favorite grumpy mutant? 

The toys themselves look reminiscent of toys you’d get in the ’90s and we’re so ready to collect all four. We assume it will just be the four shown in the teaser, but since it’s a teaser, the line could expand as they reveal more. Currently, Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine, and Storm are set to be available. They are clad in different uniforms, representing the show and the regular changing of uniforms.
