Our Honest Review of Bero, Tom Holland’s N/A Beer

You might know Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Or maybe you know him as Zendaya’s fiance. Or maybe you know him as the best performer ever to compete on Lip Sync Battle. We know him as the creator of Bero, a new non-alcholic beer.

On the Bero website, Tom writes that, “Building BERO is one of my proudest achievements.” But does it hold a candle to that lip sync performance? (Seriously, if you haven’t watched it, you need to see Tom perform “Umbrella” by Rihanna.) We tasted all three Bero beer varieties to find out. Here’s our official Bero review.

Kingston Golden Pils

Golden Pils

Bero Kingston Golden Pils

Pros: All of the Bero beer has a really pleasant fizz. The bubbles are tiny and spritzy. It’s very pleasant. And the Golden Pils has a fruity, apple-y flavor. It goes down easy and it finishes quick. It’s refreshing.

Cons: There’s no denying this is non-alcoholic beer. Unless you’ve only been drinking N/A beer for years, you’d be able to tell something was odd about this Bero. It has that telltale flat flavor that signals zero alcohol. And this one tastes more like beer-flavored seltzer water than actual beer. It’s certainly not bad, it’s just not particularly good.

Bero Noon Wheat

Wheat

Bero Noon Wheat

Pros: This Bero doesn’t taste like beer at all—but that’s kind of okay. It tastes more like a creamy mango seltzer. It’s super fruity and it’s really easy to sip. I’d happily crush a couple of cans of this Tom Holland “beer” on a hot afternoon.

Cons: As I said, it doesn’t taste like beer. So, if you’re trying to satisfy a beer craving with a cold Bero, then you’ll be sadly disappointed. However, if you’re just thirsty and wanting to support Tom Holland’s non-alcoholic beer efforts, then this will do the job.

Bero Edge Hill Hazy IPA

Hazy IPA

Bero Edge Hill Hazy IPA

Pros: This is the best Bero beer we tried. It has a strong, citrusy hop flavor—but it’s not too crazy bitter at all. It’s thirst quenching and, most importantly, it actually tastes like beer! It will scratch that beer itch. It’s not the best non-alcoholic IPA I’ve ever had (you’ll find that in our best non-alcoholic beer ranking), but it’s better than a lot of the imposters out there.

Cons: You can still tell it’s a non-alcoholic beer, thanks to that slightly cooked aftertaste. That’s just the nature of the beast for most non-alcoholic beers. But if you’re Bero curious and you want a non-alcoholic beer that tastes like beer, this is the Beero beer to buy. (Try saying that five times fast.)
