Walmart has quietly introduced a cookie pizza that’s so big it’s hard to ignore. This giant bakery treat looks like a pizza, slices like a pizza, and is big enough to fit into a pizza box. Thanks to a recent social media post, more shoppers are discovering the giant cookie and plenty of them can’t believe something this massive sells for what it does.

It Looks Like a Pizza, But It’s All Cookie
Marketside Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pizza is not exactly what you’d expect. It’s actually a giant round chocolate chunk cookie baked in the shape of a pizza―not a cookie pizza. According to Walmart’s product listing, it weighs 9 ounces, comes fully baked, and is ready to heat and serve. It sells for around $4.26.
The cookie is loaded with chocolate chunks throughout and Walmart recommends warming it before serving so the cookie softens and the chocolate gets nice and melty. You can slice it up like a pizza, top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or grab a wedge straight from the pan. There really isn’t a bad way to eat it.
Walmart Isn’t The First
Walmart may be getting plenty of attention for its Marketside Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pizza, but it isn’t the first grocery chain to sell a giant cookie in pizza form.
Aldi has been selling Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Chocolate Pizza Cookie, another 9-ounce, ready-to-heat chocolate chunk cookie that’s baked in a round pizza shape and sliced just like the real thing. It currently sells for about $4.39, just a few cents more than Walmart’s version.
Social Media Has Mixed Feelings
The giant cookie recently got more attention after Fat Kid Deals shared it on social media, introducing even more people to the bakery find. Judging by the reactions, plenty of shoppers had no idea Walmart was selling something like this. And many comments disagreed on an appropriate price. For some people, the Marketside Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pizza should be selling for something like $49.99 or at least $10+, given the size. And while some commenters thought these “pizzas” were great, others asked if they came with a free glucose monitor.
Although the cookie pizza is clearly designed for sharing, there’s a good chance plenty of shoppers will be tempted to keep it all to themselves. At just over $4, it costs about the same as many premium cookies while delivering a dessert that’s much larger.
Whether Walmart’s Marketside Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pizza becomes a fan favorite or Aldi’s longtime offering keeps its crown will likely come down to one thing: which cookie tastes better.
